Progressive Customer Reviews
Progressive Corporation sells auto insurance and a host of other types of coverage. They began selling policies in 1937 and now serve over 10 million customers. Progressive is known for their innovative direct selling to consumers. Their website is one of the best car insurance websites I’ve seen.
But, just because they have a great website, doesn’t mean they have a great product. If you have Progressive car insurance, then tell others about your experience – good or bad.

I’ve been a happy Progressive customer since 2000. I originally signed up because their online presence was more refined and easier than the other major insurance companies at the time. Their prices were competitive at the time, but I have not compared recently.
I had one accident in 2003 that was my fault. My car was totaled and the other car was nearly totaled. Progressive was wonderful. They were responsive and answered all my questions. I got a check for my totaled car the next day. My rates did not go up significantly. They handled the other driver’s claim against me completely, I didn’t have to do anything.
A couple times I’ve had to deal with website downtime, and there was one snafu where my account number changed unexpectedly, and the website didn’t handle the multiple accounts properly. Any time I call for help, I get good responsive friendly help.

I have been with Progressive Insurance for about a year. I have yet to have a claim, so I am unaware of the claim service. However, I do know from talking to my agent that they have individual claim vehicles in my area and that they will come to you. My friend had a claim and they inspected her vehicle at her work without her having to be there. I am most impressed with the discounts I get. I like to pay mine off at the beginning of the payment period and get almost 20% off! They give me my cars quickly and can be reached by phone 24 hours a day. This is the best experience I have had with an insurance company to date.

I generally have a positive opinion of my car insurance company Progressive. Their rates are competitive with the major industry players. I check every 6 months when I renew my policy and it’s usually not worth it for me to switch. I’ve only had to file a claim once. I had my car broken into several years ago, and they attempted (but failed) to steal my radio, and broke my window to get in. I had comprehensive coverage and they not only replaced my window, but paid to replace the entire dash, which was scratched in the theft attempt. They cut me a check on the spot to get it replaced for over $1200. I was impressed and have been a loyal customer since, even faced with slight discounts from other competitors.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with progressive auto insurance. I have had two accidents, one my fault and the other was the not my fault. Progressive immediately setup for my car to be repaired in both situations. After the car was repaired from the first accident it looked good as new. After the repair from the second accident the car looked better than the original form.
Progressive is very helpful when getting quotes because of them displaying the leading quotes from other insurance agencies. You can see what you will pay when you sign up for progressive and how much you are saving by not using the other agents. In conclusion, I will most likely keep progressive as long as their rates stay relatively the same.

I was pleased with Progressive at first. I signed up for their EFT program where if you allow them to automatically debit your bank account, you recieve a significant discount. Well the rep who enrolled me did not set up the EFT properly and the following month, they charged ME a $46 fee for not being enrolled in the EFT program when the mistake was on THEIR end. They did credit SOME of it back but not all of it. I also requested new insurance cards to be mailed out to me and to this date have not received them, which was over a month ago. I did call them this week to find out where my new insurance cards are and the rep I spoke with said the last rep requested a copy of the policy be emailed to me but never requested new cards for me.
So far, I am less than displeased with their service. So with that being said, I’ve been driving around with a temporary computer print out of my policy in the event that I would get pulled over. We’ll see how it goes next month.

I started with a Progressive policy for my motorcycle over 10 years ago while my cars have always been with a different company (I think progressive either didn’t offer car insurance for me or it was too expensive, I don’t remember). About 3 or 4 years ago, I switched all of my car insurance coverage over to Progressive also. So far, I haven’t had any problems with them at all. My rates have been steady, although they did increase a bit when I turned 40. Claim wise, they’ve been pretty good. The only claim I’ve put in was for a cracked windshield. I was able to get most of my policy information online and scheduled a glass company to come out and replace it. It was completed without any problems or paperwork.

For the most part I like Progressive and am happy to switch to them as long as their price is the lowest. I have had some problems though. First is that their website is very difficult to navigate once you have gotten insured. Also I have had difficulty with them giving proof of insurance in the state my car is registered in as opposed to the state I am driving in.

I have been using Progressive auto insurance for a year now. I have had no problems at all with the insurance company. To me their rates are fair and I saved money switching from Geico to Progressive. It is all extremely convenient to use.
Everything is done right online. I haven’t had to talk to a customer service representative or sit on a phone since I made the switch. I was quoted online, received my temporary cards online and my payments are deducted straight from my checking account. Your packet and permanent cards are sent to you by mail, and if you ever need a document you can print it right up at your convenience.
I must say though, the only thing that kind of irks me about Progressive, is it is a six month policy. So every six months your policy expires you have to get new cards, and are risking your rates going up. I have had no accidents or violations since I have been with them, and after my first six month policy my rates did go up by two dollars a month. I always thought the older you get and if your violation free your rates should go down. This hasn’t made me want to switch from them though.
Their website is very easy to navigate and get quotes, they even tell you if there are recalls on the vehicles you have insured with them. All in all I would say this is a great and convenient insurance company to use.

I am extremely disappointed with progressive. I have been with them for 10 years and I was treated as if I was not a valuable customer to them. The customer service was horrible and dealing with my claim took forever. In my accident, the other driver was given a ticket and sited for breaking a law yet progressive decided that it was both of our faults just because they wanted both of us to pay the deductible. I didn’t even break one law. They do not treat you fairly.

I have been insured with Progressive for the past few months and so far I have been very pleased. I have not had to file a claim yet but when signing up they made the process so easy. The customer service rep was very polite and answered all of my questions and they also saved me $800 from my previous insurance company. I got my information in the mail in a few business days. The only thing I found confusing was the sheets they needed me to sign and send back because they weren’t clear about that on the phone. But once I figured it out it was really very simple and I was ready to go. I had my insurance card in the mail in just a few days and I was ready to go!

Progressive is the best auto insurance company to me. They are very quick. They come out within 24 hours to check the damages from a car wreck or any other claim. The person that comes out is always friendly and is there to help you. When you make a claim it is so easy. You call and then you go throuth the process. You normally get the money within 72 hours of the wreak for the repairs on the car. unlike other places it takes over a month. They will come to you to look at the damage no matter where you are at. They will call you and you tell them where you are at and they come out to you. That makes them the best in my eyes. I will contuine to use progressive for years to come. They are just really great. You can also change you policy 24 hours a day.

I’ve been extremely happy with Progressive. I did my definite fair share of shopping, calling every single insurance company I could find and different agents in the area. I’m saving $150 a month with a low $250 deductible than any other car insurance company with a $500 deductible. If I were to have a higher one with progressive I’d be saving even more! Not to mention the great prices I got, the service has been great I haven’t had to file any claim but I like to keep tabs on whats going on and if there are any new discounts to be had like the paperless discount that sends you emails of statements instead of paper statements. Saves $10 extra bucks a month! Every little bit counts!

My insurance company is really good when it comes to customer service but then again there prices are not as great as people may think they are. I have not been involved in an accident so I can’t say if there any help when it comes to that. When I first signed up they gave me my Id cards very quickly and I paid through the internet. I never had to speak to an agent more than once when I had a question. I prefer a company I don’t have to see in person and I like the idea of contacting me through electronic consent.

I bought a used car (2003 Nissan Maxima). I needed to get it insured so I went online and decided to look for a insurance company that would be affordable. I looked at a couple and Progressive looked the cheapest. I was amazed with my rate because on my old car I was paying $200/month but Progressive quoted me $75 per month. I insured my car online with a policy that would pay for my car if I crashed it at my fault. I used a credit card to pay and sign up for insurance. I got confirmation emails from them saying everything is all set.
A few days later I received a letter from them with my insurance card. About three weeks after I first insured the car I crashed it and totaled it. I was in a little shock about what had happened so I decided to wait a couple days before I deal with the company. I called them about it around two days after the accident and they informed me that I was never covered because payment on the credit card never went through. I talked to some guy with them and he said that there is nothing that they can do. They said I was never covered and I was driving without insurance all this time. I was outraged. I am going to hire a lawyer and see if I can sue them. I don’t recommend Progressive. They are cheap but in the end it’s not worth it.

I think overall I would rate Progressive as okay. I was involved in a fender bender and they took care of my claim quite quickly. They had someone come and assess the damages to my car the next day and my mechanic was paid in a timely fashion. The problem with them that I did have is when I called them for things like payments. It was hard at times to reach them. I don’t like to call a place and have to press 1 for this and 2 for that and then have to wait for a long time. Average wait was about 20 minutes for me. After that accident they jacked my premiums up so high it wasn’t even funny. I’m going to be finding a new car insurance company VERY soon.

Progressive Auto Insurance is my chosen insurance company for several reasons. My primary concern with auto insurance is that they are available 24/7, because I lead a very active business life, and if my vehicle is compromised, I need to be on the road ASAP.
Having already had to make a claim, I can say from first-hand experience that they are quick, professional, and courteous. Their company-comparison calculator is also quite fairly based, though not as quick or easy to use as it is in their advertisements. They were actually not the least expensive company on my list, but you get what you pay for, and I am far happier with them than I was with my previous two insurance companies, for sure.

I have been with Progressive for over 7 years and have had nothing but the best customer service. My first claim was for a windshield and all i had to do was make the call. The agent set up a company to come to my work at my convenience to replace the windshield.
This has by far been one of the best insurance companies i have ever had and i never plan on switching! Recently i totaled my vehicle and i had accident forgiveness and a check within two weeks. This company is all about their customers!

Progressive has been handling my insurance for the past year, and after having left American Family I was a little weary of any new insurance company. However, within the first few days of signing up all of my worries melted as I had one of the best agents help me with changing my insurance from liability only to full coverage. She wasn’t pushy, but reminded me of the benefits of having better coverage, and I found myself in agreement with her – yet did not feel duped, nor did I experience buyer’s regret afterward.
Anytime I had to make a payment I found their website to be easy to navigate, and I received early reminders of when my next payment was due. Just another perk in what is overall a genuine quality insurance company. I would, and have recommended Progressive to many other people as their rates are cheap (even for full coverage), and I found their estimated rates for other companies to be quite accurate (and also quite a bit higher in price!).

I have had them 1 year. So far I am happy. They even fixed a crack in my windshielf. I got it from driving behind a truck. They got me next day service. I paid no out of pocket expenses. They also have a loyalty program so my premium is getting cheaper every 6 months. They decreased my payment by $60 last time.

This past winter, my SUV was parked in front of my house on an icy morning. Unfortunately, someone lost control of their car and hit my SUV. I went outside to see the horrendous site. The person who hit my car was insured, fortunately, and I got on the phone with my insurance company. I called mine to report the accident, and to make sure that they knew he was taking the blame, that I was not even in the SUV at the time of the accident.
At the same time I was on the phone, the other person was also on the phone with his insurance. Lots of questions later, all information provided to my insurance company satisfactorily, total of about 4 minutes later, I hung up, confident that whatever was to happen from that point, insurance was involved. I waited, and waited, and waited outside in the sleet and wind, while the other guy was on hold with his insurance company, still trying to report the accident.
After I could no longer feel my face and extremities, I went inside my front door, checking out the window every few minutes to make sure the guy did not take off. No joke, about 30 minutes later, the guy finally gets off the phone with this insurance company, only to tell me that he does not know when a tow truck driver was coming, that a claim was opened, but he did not have the number, and did not know what to do with my car. Literally, all my questions about his 45 minute conversation to open a claim with his insurance company was just a waste of time.
I called my insurance company back, this time had a direct extension of the person I spoke to earlier and was connected within seconds, and informed him of the non action/information from the other party. I waited for less than a minute, and was told that a tow truck was enroute, gave a time frame, asked where I wanted my car taken, etc. My insurance company was absolutely superb through this process. In the end, after all the go around with the other guy’s insurance company, including a very rude estimator who tried to cheat me out of THOUSANDS, and force me to accept their offer.
I politely declined, after the 5th call with them, called my trusty insurance contact, informed my insurance to proceed with my claim and get reimbursed from the other company. My settlement was more than what I was trying to get in “fair” trade with other adjustor, not to mention that it was much more of a pleasant experience dealing with my insurance company. Progressive’s adjustor actually drove across town in ice and snow to hand deliver me a check so I could immediately start looking for a replacement vehicle. For someone who does not deal well with sharks and bullies, I am very glad to have my car insured through Progressive.

I really enjoy progressive they make it so easy to do anything with your policy. I think I have changed my coverage, vehicles and drivers at least 8 times. They have it all available online and before you make any permanent change you can go ahead and get a quote for the intended change. I recently had to buy a new car and while I was looking I would plug the car information into my policy and see how much it would raise my rates a big deciding factor with me getting my new truck. And they also accept paypal for payments, which is good because most of the time I have money in my paypal account and not in my checking and I don’t have to worry about transferring the money back and forth.

I switched to Progressive 6 months ago from a costlier insurance company. I was happy to be saving about $300 annually from the switch, and paid in-full for 6 months. I just received a statement for my next 6 months, and the price has gone up $70. They also felt compelled to inform me that my 6 month policy after this one will go up an additional $70. I have no idea why. I haven’t had a ticket nor accident since. Only change is I’m getting older. My rate should be going down!

It seems the longer you are with them with no claims the worse they treat you. I’ve been with them for over 15 years. No claims except a cracked windshield. Get into a minor accident with witnesses claiming the other guy was speeding and they work against you, don’t call you back, and rude. I’m very disappointed. I was extremely happy till the accident. It just doesn’t make any sense. You pay them money to work for you not against you.

My wife car was in a accident caused by a client of theirs, he hit a school bus and then my wife’s car that was stopped at an intersection. to make a left turn. The driver of the Vehicle that was insured through Progressive admitted he lost control and hit my wife’s car and 3 other vehicles that were parked. Progressive claims adjuster was supposed to call and take a statement from my wife and has not called even after 8 days. They are playing delaying tactics so they do not have to pay for the rental vehicle or settle the claim as my vehicle is totally wrecked and not drivable, my wife also suffered neck and back injuries. Every time you call the company they have something new to say . either they are waiting for a Police Report that I readily provided, they do not have a Statement from the Client driver ( I called them directly they had already done so) Will never recommend this Company to anyone
Worst Company as far as it goes for settlement of Claims.

I’ve now been with Progressive for over 4 years, filed multiple claims, participated in their “Snapshot” discount program, and have compared their premiums to other major auto insurance providers. I am completely satisfied with Progressive.
Last year, my wife was in a car accident. Her car was totaled, and she sustained chronic muscle injuries from the accident. The Progressive agent assigned to her claim was respectful, quick to process any disbursements for her car and health benefits, and never pushed her to close her claim before she was prepared to do so (before the full extent of her back/shoulder damage was clear). Even when she had decided what the loss of a good portion of her mobility should be “worth” the agent did his best to make sure she received more than she asked for, and what he thought was fair given the circumstances.
I am not sure any of my previous insurers would have gone out of their way to pay us MORE than we requested. Their discount programs are peerless in the industry– when other insurers have called us to “switch,” they have not been able to even come CLOSE to Progressive’s rate. I’ve had other insurance sales reps laugh over the phone after I tell them what we pay, and exclaim “Well, we can’t do that good! Sorry to bother you!” and hang up.
When you have other companies tell you that you are getting a great deal, that’s when you really know you’re getting an amazing deal. Speaking of discount programs, their innovative Snapshot program was hassle-free, lowered our premium by 30% for the first 6 months we were enrolled in the program (While you have the device attached to your car), and each of our cars a 20% discount that is now locked in forever, as long as we keep our policy.
Not to even mention their other discount programs for my wife being a teacher, accident free (the accident she was in was ruled not her fault and so it was never counted against her policy!), and a plethora of other discounts make insuring with Progressive not only affordable, but dare I say “fun” too, when you review just how much all of these programs are saving you each and every year. We added two new cars to our policy this last Fall, and were able to call Progressive while in the dealership, have our new quotes, even with extensive changes to our coverage levels, and temporary cards faxed to us all within a few minutes.
Exceptional service and speed for both changes to our policy and claims, the lowest price ANYWHERE for the coverage we enjoy, and discount programs that actually have dropped our premiums every year, despite increasing our coverage and cost of cars in that time.
Progressive Auto. Exceptional, High Value, and Innovative

I had seen dozens of commercials for Progessive, and quite frankly, the actress in the ads annoyed me so much that I never gave them a thought. But then I moved to another state and my car insurance premium went up. I was with Geico at the time and had been with them for years, but apparently the rates in my new state reflected the overall accident rates and drunk driving incidents. So, although my car was insured with Geico for more than twenty years, I switched to Progressive almost two years ago.
I went to their website and entered all my automobile information and they gave me a quote that was quite a bit less than Geico’s annual premium. Before making the switch, I contacted Geico first to see if they would lower my rates to match the quote given to me by Progressive, but they declined to do so. I was quite annoyed by their attitude because during the more than twenty years I paid for their insurance coverage, I had zero claims, zero tickets and zero complaints. I have been quite satisfied with Progressive.
They are very responsive and very easy to deal with. I have not had any claims with them, I am referring to getting the insurance quote in the first place, setting up the policy and payment method, and then dealing with annual renewals. I will admit that even though I am satisfied with Progressive and have absolutely no complaints about them as a company, I have just recently received offers in the mail from AARP and another car insurance company inviting me to compare my current Progressive policy rates with their rates.
So, I have decided to go ahead and do that. With the cost of living going up and no cost of living raises being given, I really have to go with the bottom line cheapest car insurer and not let past satisfaction sway me. I understand there is a slight risk in switching insurance companies, especially since I have several friends who have had their claims paid promptly by Progressive, but as I stated above, it is all about the money for me at this time.
I will go ahead and shop around for a lower quote, and I will even see if Geico can come in lower. It is time consuming, but necessary in this economy. Nevertheless, no matter which company I ultimately choose, I still highly recommend Progressive if anyone is shopping around for auto insurance. |Satisfied with Progressive

Very disappointed.
What we were told at time of insurance purchase was far different from what happened after we signed on.The car is not driven during the winter and this was explained. Progressive offered a monitoring device that could result in a rebate of about 200 dollars. When we did not receive the rebate their reason was that the monitoring device could not be read. We told them that the car was garaged and not being driven as they were told would happen from the beginning. Due to the fact that the car was not driven during the winter months, they said that they could not adjust price for good driving as originally told. So basically I drove the car for two months out of the 6. Progressive was paid a premium of over 1000 dollars.
I have secured complete coverage from another insurance company and it starts when the Progressive policy expires. Price with new company is ONE THIRD the price I paid for Progressive.. YES ONE THIRD THE PRICE.
I have had other insurance companies tell me when getting quotes that they would allow you to just carry comprehensive if your car is not driven and basically stored in the garage. for the winter. Although the new coverage that I have secured with a new company is complete coverage.
If I had known that Progressive was going to pull this stunt I never would have insured with them. They lied and I believed them. I was duped. Buyer beware.

Progressive, by far has been one of the most positive insurance companies i have ever had the pleasure to deal with. From the get go they were very helpful, meticulous and honest. They helped me get many different insurance rates not only from their own company but from other companies. I have limited insurance experience but i have been with a few other major companies and the customer service experience at progressive puts others to shame. The call center they have is not some out-of-country hotline that you give random information to. Its designed to help the consumer in every way possible and help them get the exact quotes they were looking for.
Progressive not only helped me originally get the quote i needed but has continued to earn my trust throughout the six years i have stayed with them. In 2008, i was hit by a motorcycle, and the police originally blamed it on me. i promptly reported the accident to a progressive claims agent and he was out to my remote house in NH by the next day. He inspected the car and assessed the damage, all the while assuring me that progressive would take care of everything and that i didnt have to worry at all. I was rather reluctant to have a insurance company that was so quick to make promises.
But once i saw how quickly they followed through with them i knew that i would keep progressive as long as possible. Not only is their customer service and claims service great, but their rates are surprisingly low. As a 18 male driver with no speeding tickets i was paying a fraction of the cost that other companies such as Geico and Amica were offering me. Not to mention i was also able to include motorcycle and full collision into my policy just as easily.
I was really happy with the entire experience i have had with progressive and look forward to continuing to give them my money and business and telling everyone i know to do the same. I am so glad that i chose them especially in 2010 when i totaled my new Audi. i was so scared that my insurance company was going to blame it on me or tell me that i had the wrong policy and that they were not going to cover the costs associated with the at-fault crash. But again i reported the accident to a claims representative and a different one was over within 24 hours.
Almost as if they were trained by the same person the Claims representative promised me that progressive would take care of it and that i should not worry about a thing. They even covered the cost of a rental car while the car was being taken care of. Not ten days later i received a call saying that my case had been reviewed and that i should be receiving a check in the mail by the end of the week, that was on a Wednesday. And sure enough i received one. 34,000$ towards my next car.
The blue book value on my previous car was 34,790$ so i was more than gracious. Progressive will continue to have me and my family’s business till i am old and off the road. Thank you progressive.

I am very pleased to have been a Progressive Direct member for 15 years. They have provided outstanding service whenever I have had a claim, and they have always maintained fair rates at time of policy renewal. I have also found them to be honest and straightforward and their website is as good as it gets. One of the special things about Progressive that I really like is Concierge Service.
If a fender benders occurs, you just have your car towed (which of course Progressive’s towing insurance covers) to their facility and rent a car right there (using Progressive’s towing insurance.) They then arrange everything to have your car repaired flawlessly and when it is ready, all you have to do is return the rental car and pay whatever deductible may apply. To show that this is an honest review, I will describe one situation which did cause us a little difficulty, but it was not a huge problem. One time my roomate had gotten into an accident with his green Mazda truck. We did arrange repair of the vehicle through the concierge service, just as I have described above.
Unfortunately, the repair seemed to be taking longer than we were originally told, and Progressive just continued allowing the rental car to be extended. Finally they told us the truck was ready and Jeff went to pick it up. The next day we noticed that the black plastic wheel well liner was missing from the left driver side tire. Now this is not something you automatically look for, but we were shocked to find that it was simply not there. We had to return to Progressive, and they agreed to replace the wheel liner as well.
They agreed to another rental car. At this point we were a little dismayed as this represented further inconvenience. Again, the promised repair seemed to be taking way too long, going into three weeks. Finally we called and were told that Progressive was having an extremely difficult time locating this particular part, new, or used, from any source. They did keep trying, and we did keep calling.
At this point we really wanted our truck back, and we felt that Progressive needed to spare no expense to complete the repair job. Ultimately, they did just that. They had to buy a whole fender assembly for the plastic liner, but they did make a proper repair at this point. Further to this story, upon driving the truck afterward, Jeff felt that the alignment was not quite right and was causing the truck to pull to the right. We decided to trade out the truck for a new Chevrolet Aveo. We did tell the purchasing dealer about the accident and the questionnable repair. Fortunately, they had an affinity for Mazda trucks and made a decent offer just the same.
So, overall, I rate Progressive highly for bringing together this unusual and relatively convenient concierge service. Remember, getting cars repaired at dealerships or body shops is prone to be a troubling experience as well. At least with Progressive you have a friend on your side who will ultimately try to make things right and usually will succeed for you

|I have used Progressive Auto Insurance for the past 5 years and have always had good dealings with them. I usually don’t have to contact them for anything, but the few times I have they have had great customer service, which I think is based in the US. The prices are reasonable and they have always worked with me about finding other discounts and programs to lower my premium. About three years ago I got a speeding ticket and this, of course, raised my rates (the cop gave me a ticket for going 42 in a 35, downhill on a backroad, no understanding at all, just trying to get money).
I checked around with other companies and their expiration for traffic tickets (when they no longer affect your rates) was 5 years, with Progressive it was 3. My 3 year period fell in the middle of my 6 month policy, but the representative I talked to told me to call and that he would put in the notes that I should be prorated for those 3 months, I was skeptical that it would be that easy having dealt with plenty of insurance companies before.
I called, it was that easy, they found the notes, checked my record and I saved that money, it was great customer service. I also really like the fact that they don’t send me solicitations in the mail or email and are really good about sending reminders (I have mine setup to be emailed) when the policy is due, I think I get them about a month in advance, which gives me plenty of time to plan my finances.
If I pay in full I save something like $40, which is something to me and they offer a windshield replacement (I think with a small deductible) or free windshield crack, rock damage fixing, which I have used more than once. I have also used their roadside assistance before.
It was a Sunday afternoon in rural Colorado, where in normal times things close down early and I locked my keys in my car. I called Progressive and they called a towtruck/lock guy who was there in about 15 minutes, really worth the few dollars I pay every six months. The other incident with them was an accident.
My wife was stopped at at stop light and a large truck backed into her from an adjacent diagonal parking spot (the truck claims it didn’t see her as her regular car was to low to the ground) and smashed and dented her passenger side door. Thankfully no one was hurt (both my kids were in the backseat also and a little different angle and it could have it my son).
Progressive dealt with all of it, one or two phone calls to get everything straight and we received a check from the other drivers insurance and were able to get quotes ourselves, it really was pretty easy. I no there are other insurance companies, I’m not sure maybe even cheaper ones, but these guys have done pretty good by me, good customer service, no problems and pretty good rates.|

I like my Progressive auto insurance policy so far. I have been with the company for about six months now, and have been satisfied with everything I have had to do, have had to have them do, and the automatic withdrawal feature allows me to manage the account without every forgetting to make the payment. The one issue I have with the automatic withdrawal feature is it does not come out of my bank account on the same date every month, although it is supposed to be the fifth.
I really was a satisfied customer when it came to the sign up process with Progressive Insurance. I called in to ask about rates, and was very intrigued by the numbers I was given, as compared to the figures that were set in front of me by the other auto insurance agencies, including some of the so called “cheapest” policies, and I have a great driving record.
I first spoke with a very nice woman for about forty-five minutes, she was extremely well spoken, and gave me a very enjoyable experience, given that I was on the phone giving info, answering questions, often the same ones multiple times, as you do most often signing up for any new services.
This woman explained everything about my policy, including each aspect of the insurance I was purchasing, down to the monthly amount I paid for things like my roadside assistance coverage, and how my deductibles work. At the end of our conversation she was not able to finish my transaction however, because I needed to get my bank account numbers. She gave me a number to call back, and I did. This time I was pleasantly surprised once again with a very nice and well-spoken woman.
She was able to actually save me another $10/month for the same services, and finished completing my order in about fifteen minutes, and in the nicest way possible. After these wonderful experiences, I have only had to deal with things online, and in the good way. Everything online is well structured, and very easy to navigate. I have not had to call customer service back again, but would assume I would have another pleasant experience, but just a guess.
All in all I have very much enjoyed my service up until this point with Progressive auto insurance. I would definitely recommend them to my friends and family, and feel they would not be disappointed with their decisions to transfer companies.

|We chose Progressive insurance for our Van because of cost. In looking around at the policies of other insurers Progressive was very competitive in price. I was unsure if having an insurance company that was primarily online was such a smart choice, but we’ve found they are easy to reach when we have questions. They provide physical statements through the mail and online too. You don’t have to chose one or the other like you do with a bank.
We’ve moved to different states We chose Progressive insurance for our 2006 Chevy Van because of their pricing options. In looking around at the policies and prices offered by other insurance companies, Progressive was very competitive in price over the other national insurance companies. I was unsure if having an insurance company that was primarily online was such a smart choice. The advertising I’ve seen from other insurance companies try and scare you away from companies that are online style companies, but we’ve found they are easy to reach when we have questions.
They get back to you in a very timely manner when you have questions. They provide physical statements through the mail and online too. You don’t have to choose one or the other like you do with a bank. In the six years we’ve been with Progressive we have not had any surprises in our monthly statements. There have not been any big rate changes. Progressive gives good discounts on our rates if we pay a year or six months in advance.
Even for the times we’ve not been able to pay that much in advance the monthly rate has been manageable and we’ve been given the option of going back and forth from the monthly billing to the six month or yearly billing deal. They don’t punish customers for needing to go back and forth, which we very much appreciate. We’ve moved to different states over the past few years and it’s easy to re-adjust our policy to match the requirements of different states.
It’s been just a matter of contacting them online and letting them know our new address and they very quickly get back to us with our new rate plan. When we moved from a state whose rates were quite high to a state that had much lower rates we received a refund for the difference. A change from state to state can be a bit more complicated if you have a local insurance company or are dealing with a local representative of a national company as we’ve found in the past with other insurance companies.
We were able to choose just the right kind of coverage to match our needs and our budget. Obviously the test of any insurance company would be their dependability and availability if you should need to collect, but we’ve never had to put that to the test. Hopefully we never will. We plan on staying with Progressive for the foreseeable future.

I’ve been their customer for 3 years and never had to deal with them till recently when I had a minor accident that I hit a parked car on the street while I was getting out of park.
To be honest their customer service is good and they were quick wrapping up everything. But they are going to increase my premium for an unfair value for 3 years! Also the total amount of the damage they assessed for repairing the other driver’s car was almost 4 times of the quote that I got from a friend’s mechanic’s shop!!! Yes I understand its being higher but 4 times higher is really unacceptable.
I definitely don’t want to renew my policy with them.

I have been with Progressive car insurance for about three years. I switched from my parent’s insurance which was AARP. I am pleased with Progressive. I have a pretty low rate and they waive the first accident if under a certain amount of damage. My husband had a fender bender last year and my rates did not go up. I also switched cars and my rates stayed the same. I do like them overall.
Though I was offered a free insurance quote through AAA and I am awaiting the results. I am not sure if I want to switch just yet, Progressive has been good to us, especially since we moved out of state. It sounds strange but I also like their insurance card with the plastic coating. It fits perfectly in my wallet.
I do not have roadside assistance through Progressive, I have it through AAA. That is why they are offering me a free quote. No one else in my family has Progressive. They use Geiko and AARP. I like FLO, the spokesperson, she is cute, though I didn’t pick it because of her. But she is fun to watch, unlike that stupid lizard. Its easy to make payments online, I just paid my 6 month policy today. I do not have any boats, RVs, recreation vehicles , buses, etc. I only have one car on the policy at the moment. We are shopping around for a second car so I am curious how much our rates will go up. there is a car insurance company on TV right night. Its a Geico commercial and a man is drinking juice in the street.
That’s pretty lame, I think Progressive has a much stronger marketing direction. I hope they keep Flo around. I am not sure if Progressive offers home or life or rental insurance, but that probably do. I am not interested in any of those. I like that when I call I speak to an American and they have a quick and simple payment process that remembers your card number. Thats convenient. It would be cool if Progressive gave cool deals like AAA does.
I am referring to travel discounts, hotels, airlines, rental cars etc. I am overall satisfied with my insurance provider, though I think all insurance is overpriced and unnecessary. They shouldn’t penalize you for having an accident if all those years of paying for the service and not actually having to use it. The accident has probably been paid for a hundred times over in the course of a lifetime. I do like that the state of Maine doesn’t charge a fee for not paying your insurance on time.

I have been a Progressive Auto Insurance customer for over five years. I have always had wonderful experiences with Progressive. I chose Progressive because I had seen their commercial and knew that they gave you a quote for insurance with them, as well as their top three competitors and decided to give it a try.
They were cheaper than the insurance I had at the time and then the competitors. I found switching to Progressive to be very easy as well. I was able to do it all online in just a few minutes. The forms they have online lay out your coverage in an easy to understand format and also give you several payment options such as one lump sum, monthly payments over the contract period, or three payments during the contract period. I had to make a claim about a week after I switches to Progressive Insurance. I was a little leery that they might fight me about the claim since I had only been their customer for a week.
I had come out one morning and found a huge crack in my windshield. It was very large and went completely across the middle of my windshield. I was actually afraid to drive the car. I called Progressive in the morning and by 11:00 a.m. I had a repairman knocking on my door who completely replaced my windshield in the driveway at no additional cost to me. It was a very good experience. I was also pleased that Progressive did not increase my policy payments after this claim. Another reason I love Progressive is their excellent customer service.
I recently purchased a brand new car after some engine failure with my much beloved hatchback. I currently have some financial concerns as my husband is a full-time graduate student and since he is not working full-time we have a tight budget. Purchasing another vehicle wasn’t an option but I needed to make sure that I had enough coverage on the new car that I could have any significant damage repaired immediately or the car replaced if there was a bad accident.
I spent several hours on the phone over a period of three days with customer service making sure that the policy coverage I was choosing was going to be affordable on a monthly basis but also that I would be able to afford my deductible in something did happen. The representatives were very patient with me and walked me through several options so I could make the best decision.
I recently had to make another claim with my insurance company as I had backed into a brand new car with my new car, I wasn’t used to the small rear window and higher height of the car yet. The entire claims process was completed within three days. I called Progressive and reported the accident. They contacted the other driver that day and had the adjustor at his house the next day and payment made to him on the third day.
Again, my premiums were not increased and it was wonderful to have such a stressful situation taken care of so quickly. And to note, I may have caused $3,800 worth of damage to that Acura but my Kia Soul didn’t even have a knick in the paint. And a final reason to love Progressive is their commercials with Flo, they are amusing and wholesome!

Progressive is a truly amazing insurance company. So long as you never have an accident while the policy is in effect, regardless of who was at fault during the accident. I was in 2 accidents during my time with Progressive.
The first I was hit by a police officer racing to a scene, and the second by a road rage diver. In both of the accidents I was cleared of any fault or wrong doing. I was not issued any citations. Progressive would do nothing to help contact the other insurance companies and get my truck repaired. I was left trying to find out how to contact all these other companies, get phone numbers, find where to bring my car for inspections, and then wait months for repair checks to come in the mail.
When I had Geico and other companies the insurance company usually foots the bill. They usually wait for the at fault company to pay them back and help you get your car fixed in the mean time. This is not the case with Progressive insurance. The road rage driver that hit me was also an uninsured out of state driver. I had to wait over a year for the man to slowly pay the bill while he was in jail due to the accident.
Needless to say my truck never got repaired because no repair shop would wait that long for payment and let me have my truck back to do my courier job. I have never had a ticket or an at fault accident in my life time. I always paid on time. Yet when my policy came up to be renewed they sent me a letter saying I was to large of a risk due to my number of claims (again, only 2 not at fault accidents neither of which were over $2000 worth of damage) and that I had been dropped and needed to find a new insurance company! I find that to be appalling customer service.
They never personally spent a penny on repair to my truck and yet claim I cost them more money then they make off of me so I am no longer worth their time. Although they are a slightly cheaper option their service certainly shows it and I would advice anyone looking to insure with Progressive to consider other options. You will probably have to in 6-12 months anyway.

I have been with Progressive Insurance for over 10 years now. As of now, I have never needed to file a claim. However, I can comment on the level of customer service I have received since I became a customer. Usually I prefer to use a company’s website for assistance (if I can help it). I consider myself a fairly self sufficient customer who doesn’t like dealing with representatives very often so I definitely appreciate Progressive’s “easy to use” website. It is an extremely user friendly site that is easy to navigate. I particularly like that I can log on to view full policy details using my chosen username and password OR I can log on simply using my policy number if I only need to make a quick payment (in the event that I am in a hurry or temporarily forgot my username/password, which happens very often). I appreicate the opportunities their site offers, like being able to peruse potential changes to my policy and how they would affect my deductibles/installment payments by using their “policy change” program. The site also allows me to add additional (new) insured drivers to my policy quite easy. My proof of insurance cards are alwaysavailable for me to reprint whenever is necessary, too. As far as “live” customer service, I have always had a good experience with Progressive representatives. Recently, I had an incident in which I accidentally created a second policy online (instead of what I was really intending to do) and needed to have a telephone representative assist me with correcting the error. The rep was extremely helpful and friendly, and it was so refreshing. Not only did he correct the error, but he mentioned that I might want to review my current policy to make sure I had everything I needed. Low and behold, the rep discovered a way in which I could still get the coveregae I needed but lower my monthly installments! After I got off the phone I actually ended up saving money. I have researched other auto insurance companies over the years and discovered a company here or there that offered me insurance at a slightly less cost but it still has not been enough of an incentive to make me switch. Sometimes getting the absolute “cheapest price” isn’t the “be all end all”. As consumers, we have to deal with SO many customer services people (either over the phone or in person) every day. After being treated poorly time and time again, and having bad dreams turn into nightmares because of unprofessional sales people, being treated right becomes very important. Good customer service is invaluable, in my opinion.
