Mercury Insurance grew their company by writing sub-standard policies where many larger insurance companies didn’t take on higher risk drivers. This strategy has proven successful. Mercury still markets their policies through independent agencies and brokers.
Mercury Insurance Group (MCY) is a publically traded company. Mercury recently followed GEICO’s lead by creating humorous commercials with UFO-ologist, Dr. D.B. Selwick.
