Rental Car Claims

Written by Michele Wilmonen. Posted in Ask An Insurance Question Last Updated: 10/01/2014

Don’t be bullied by the other insurance company about your rental car.

Question: The other person’s insurance company is telling me that I am only authorized for a rental car for two days, but what if the repairs to my vehicle take longer than that?

Answer: If the other person’s insurance company has accepted liability for the claim, then they owe you the rental car until your vehicle is fixed. Don’t let them tell you that you only have it for two days, you need to tell them that you are going to keep the rental car until you get your vehicle back.

(Disclaimer: I do not know the details of your claim and am not a claims adjuster. This is advice to a question only)
