Fred Loya Insurance has been around since 1974. It started in El Paso, Texas which still remains its headquarters today. It is very proud of being in the top of the Hispanic Top 500 Owned and Operated Company in the United States.

Fred Loya only writes insurance in California, Colorado, Texas, New Mexico, Illinois, and Nevada. They are very big on concentrating on local communities and have located their agencies just about everywhere people can easily access them. They are also uniquely located in many different grocery stores.

    Today I had a very upsetting situation and Fred Loya made it so much worse. My spouse’s key broke off of the fob broke and she was several towns over working. She called me and I went to go get another key. I had to leave work and get another key.
    After I went to the dealership to pick up up the key, which was an hour north of my work, I received a call from my line holder who said they were informed that I needed to sign a declaration at Fred Loya indicating that my son isn’t driving our cars. I called Fred Loya and was told that my insurance was on “hold” because I needed to sign the declaration. Mind you, I had just paid my bill and money had been DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT. NO PHONE CALL FROM FRED LOYA WAS RECEIVED INFORMING G ME that I didn’t have insurance and both me and my partner had been DRIVING AROUND THE METROPLEX!! I’m sure if my paymentime was late you would have CALLED me! I had to drive 30 minutes away to the nearest Fred Loya office and was told that in order for me to them to reinstate my policy, they would need to SEE BOTH MY VEHICLES!!! Are you kidding me???!!! If you don’t recall, my SPOUSE WAS STRANDED 2 HOURS AWAY!! AND IT WAS AT 4:30 in 100 degree weather!…. AND has a large burn injury in which CAUSED THE SWEAT GLANDS ON 80% of the total surface area to NOT BE ABLE TO PRODUCE SWEAT which can easily cause HEATSTROKEand it had been 2 hours since the call. So I had to fool around in the fred Loya office having a fit because of this B.S.until someone finally kept calling people until I could finally leave, having the full coverage that I had ALREADY PAID FOR and had been PAYING FOR SINCE 2010. Oh, and my son who’s 17, DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A CAR and he was 16 a year ago and I had NEVER been asked to sign a disclosure before. So it is now over THREE HOURS since the distress call and I am still not there. yet. The key issue is a pain but sometimes these things happen but Fred Loya fiasco was stupid and was less than poor customer service. I see where y
    Fred Loyas priorities are and those priorities just lost you a customer!

    Words can not begin to describe the betrayal I feel from this company. We have insurance for a reason. We sign up with a certain company because we feel a trust that the company we choose will be there to pick us up when we have a devastating accident. Well, the exact opposite happened with Fred Loya Insurance.
    After not only taking forever to come out and see our vehicle, but also being IMPOSSIBLE to contact, My husband took time off work to drive to the physical office. He was then greeted by agents who knew nothing about insurance policies, nothing about how to even find our account, or find out who could find our account.
    We remained patient (stupidly) because they mentioned that the hail damage to so many in south/central Texas, really had them backed up.
    Days later, we were contacted by an agent who told us the truck was totaled. (which we already knew. The accident was extremely serious.)
    They then told us that they could not cover ANYTHING! Full coverage insurance, and they could not cover a cent. This has turned in to a nightmare for our family. We are still trying all we can, but this will take a long time to heal. I wish I would’ve read the reviews prior to obtaining Fred Loya Insurance. The reviews are nothing but terrible. Even the employee reviews are terrible. If this review can prevent any other family from feeling the salt on the wound that my family is feeling right now, i may be able to feel that some good came out of this.
    Drivers beware.

    This is the worst company I have ever dealt with the claims adjuster yelled at me and was impossible to reach. After days of leaving messages I finally spoke to her but she was RUDE AND MEAN!!! The medical office I went to told how difficult this company was to deal with. My insurance company told me how difficult this company was to deal with….what a reoccurring theme. I WILL NEVER SUGGEST this company to anyone.

    Worst insurance company i have ever dealt with! Never again. Doubled my monthly insurance payment when i added my daughter. I cancelled my policy and they kept about 2/3 of my refund amount due. Gave all this nonsense explanation and kept my money. Filed a complaint with the Texas Department of Insurance

    I switched to Fred Loya after promises of a lower rate & them not basing my rate on my credit. I ended up with lower coverage at a MUCH higher rate! Then when I found a new policy thru Safeco for half the price & better coverage, they told me that I had to cancel my policy in person. The other option they gave me was to fill out forms, type letters, fax them here & there & “maybe” it would be canceled! They claimed this was their policy so that someone couldn’t cancel another persons policy. “To protect their customers they could not verify my identity over the phone.” I then asked how then did they when I called to start my policy & I was actually HUNG UP ON!! IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS ON THIS REVIEW, I WOULD!! SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND GET INSURANCE ELSEWHERE!!

    I have been with Fred Loya Insurance for almost 9 years now. The reason I switched over from a national auto insurance company to Fred Loya who has offices throughout Texas and I believe Oklahoma, is because of the individualized attention. Every single Fred Loya I have ever walked into has been very accommodating. The staff is very courteous and professional.

    Another thing that I love about Fred Loya is that when they first take your application, the y do not run a credit check on you. They base their rates on your driving record not your credit report. I have never had to used their claim service but I have friends who have been involved in minor fender benders and they have expressed surprise at how fast Fred Loya Insurance handles claims, usually within 48 hours from submission of claim. The people at Fred Loya Insurance go out of their way to help.

    On day during the holiday season, I needed to add another vehicle to our policy. We had just finished buying our son a use truck. It was Wednesday evening by the time we finished the deal. Next day was going to be Thanksgiving Day and everything would be closed. We called Fred Loya Insurance and it would be 10 minutes by the time they closed. The store manager agreed to wait for us as he needed to take pictures of the truck prior to insuring it. When we go there, they had been closed for 15 minutes but the manager had waited for us. We were truly grateful.

    Overall, I give Fred Loya a 5 star rating across the board, an overall 5 star rating, a 5 star rating on price, a 5 star rating on service, and I have never had to your their claims, but based on other friends opinions, I give them a 5 star rating on claim service.
