Illinois-based Insurer – Allstate Reviews

The largest publicly-held auto insurance company in the United States, Allstate  typically sells auto insurance through its agency system.  Headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois, Allstate sells car insurance in almost every state. The following Allstate reviews are from actual customers.

Allstate has received some bad press in recent years related to certain practices aimed to limit claim payouts. They seem to have improved their image recently. Like most major insurance companies, they have spent a pretty penny on advertising. If you have Allstate auto insurance or have ever had Allstate, leave a review about your experience – good, bad, or ho-hum.

I’ve been with Allstate for about five years now. My agent has always been great about answering my questions. He’s always treated me like an old friend rather than a customer, and never puts on some condescending rubbish simply because I’m a woman, which is what I got from my last insurance agent.

The only vehicular incident I’ve had, about four years ago, was handled very professionally. Someone had backed into my car, which was parked on a residential street in Atlanta while I visited a friend. I spoke with an Allstate representative that evening and she was really great, very polite. She calmly explained everything I needed to do and had me write it all down. That was wonderful, because I was rather upset about the incident and couldn’t think properly. By the time we both hung up I felt a lot better and was able to file all the necessary reports and paperwork.

The only beef I’ve ever had with Allstate is the amount of paperwork they send me. I signed up for paperless billing a couple years ago and they still sent monthly payment reminders. As for the premium information and such, I’m sure they are legally obligated to post that to me, but the envelope is rather thick every time it comes to me (every six months).

I’ve never had a problem paying in person or online. Allstate’s rates are much lower than the other companies I spoke with years ago. Considering my driving and credit history, I would definitely say their rates are fair. Given the service I’ve received, it’s more than fair. I don’t think I’ll change insurance companies any time soon. I know I’m in good hands with Allstate, just like the adverts say.

I have been with Allstate since I first started driving 4 years ago. I really like my price and how well they work with me financially, but the customer service is really lacking. They don’t mail me updated insurance cards automatically, I have to call and answer a bunch of questions and they send them out in the mail which usually takes about two weeks if I’m lucky. When I first signed up for service they kept spelling my name incorrectly on the insurance card even though they copied it directly from my Driver’s License.

I have only had to make two claims in the history of my driving, and both times the customer service seemed to be really angry all the time. They would talk down to me and ask questions like “Are you sure YOU didn’t cause the damage?”. Why would I lie about my car being vandalized?

Anyway, if you are a safe driver and are just looking for low payments, then Allstate can be pretty nice. But if you are prone to filing claims and having to talk to them all the time, I would suggest finding a nicer place, maybe even a local insurance provider. Recently I got into financial trouble and my parents wanted to help me out by paying for my insurance by switching me over to their policy. They allowed me to be switched over but said my husband could not be on the policy for some reason. I feel like this is a giant inconvenience.

Honestly, I will probably be switching providers as soon as I am able.

I have been with Allstate for many, many years. To be honest, In the beginning, I went with Allstate because of the agent who, by the way, has since retired. Now, I stay with Allstate because of the service. I have only had one accident and the other driver was cited. Allstate took care of everything for me.

I called them to let them know I had been in an accident and they took it from there. I didn’t wait to get my car fixed and they even provided me with a rental within 1 day. They contacted the other driver’s insurance company and facilitated all interactions with them. I have also used the towing services. The fuel pump went out on my SUV and allstate was right there to help me. From the time I called to the time they arrived, I only waited 35 minutes and never saw a bill. Now that’s service to me!

Besides the towing and one accident I was involved with, I like Allstate for other reasons too. Allstate has competitive pricing. I know they do not offer the lowest rates, but I don’t mind if I am getting the service. I’m happy enough to not even be looking for another provider. They also offer the accident-free program. I am always receiving updates on their services and if I have a question they are very friendly and prompt in returning my calls.

I can honestly say that I cannot say one negative thing about them. I am very glad that i met my agent and began receiving my insurance with Allstate. As long as they stay customer focused like they are now, I plan to always stay with them regardless of the rates. And I also recommend them to my friends.

When choosing this insurance the determining factor for us was price. We had just moved down to Florida from Kansas and were previously with Geico. We put in our change of address request and we were quite surprised to find our rate was increased nearly 5x with only a simple address change. After reviewing a few rate from competitors we found Allstate being the cheapest, at only 3x our current rate.

Making the switch was very easy. We did it all online and were able to adjust any number we wanted it seemed to choose the plan that had the right coverage for us. We then had to get our vehicle inspected by an agent. Finding one a block away from our home was very convenient. They inspected our vehicles and informed us that while they were not our authorized agent, the 1-800 number or online should be our first point of contact, but they would assist us regardless if we needed something.

After a year I noticed a crack in my windshield. When I drove down to the agent to ask about getting a replacement they gave me a number of a windshield repair company to call and share my information with to schedule an on-site replacement. I was assured that my rate wouldn’t go up with the claim. I called the number a repair was scheduled without the deductible and everything went off without a hitch.

I receive my email confirmation of payment every month from them. I regularly receive my updated insurance cards. Otherwise there is no contact. It might be nice if I were called and told how I might be eligible for additional discounts. But I don’t expect that from an average company. Basically my service has been what was expected, but very little more than that.

We’ve all seen the commercials. A pairing of unlikely individuals involved in some random accident that ends with one guy talking like the Allstate spokesperson and the other sounding surprised. It’s all a ruse right? Wrong.

The truth is, you are in good hands with Allstate. I’ve been a member of the Allstate family for the last three years after switching from another company that had done nothing for me. I’ve never had an accident, never a speeding ticket, but with high rates I went searching for a new hand. I admit it, I was pulled in by the cheesy commercial, but I stayed for the low rates and the continued discounts. When six months went by, I got a check in the mail for being a good driver. When a year went by, I had another hundred sliced from my deductible.

After three years, I felt pretty safe and comfy. Until I came out to find my car dented in one side after work one afternoon. Until then, I had never had a problem, I didn’t even know how to handle it. There I was, standing in the rain, suddenly wishing I could sing the Statefarm jingle and end up in an insurance company far, far away. After calling my husband, we told me to call the number on the back of my card. To my surprise, I was instantly answered without a wait period. They reassured me that everything would be fine, went over the details with me, helped me to schedule an appointment with an Allstate agent and offered me a few local repair companies that had high ratings.

I ended the call feeling comfortable, but still a little queasy. This seemed to good to be true. Yet, after my interview with my agent, he handed me a check for the damages to my car and even called the company to set up my repair and set up a time for enterprise to drop off my rental. Two weeks later I was back on the road. They even called me to see how my car was running and assured me that the incident wouldn’t affect my deductions or my good driver discount.

I can proudly say, that you ARE in good hands with Allstate.

I have been an allstate customer since before I was born! I took over my mom and dad’s auto insurance policy after they died and so it says I’ve been with them since before 1959, the year I was born! But I have actually been with them since 1985, and they have NEVER let me down! Ever! I had renter’s insurance through tem until 2010, and have had my homeowner’s cthrough them since. I have Allstate for all three of my vehicles. I don’t know if they are cheaper or not, but I don’t care! I am in good hands with Allstate and that is worth every penny I pay!

I’ve been with Allstate Insurance for 3 years. My father is the policy holder and we have three drivers under the policy, including my older sister. I have a 2003 Toyota Corolla and my father drives a 2009 Toyota Camry. We pay $2400 a year for these two cars which I think is way too much. We have tried looking for better deals in the past but my driving history prevented us from finding a better deal. I have two speeding tickets and one minor accident on my record. I’m now 30 years old and should not be paying this much.

However, the customer service has been very good. A few years ago, my sister was in a minor accident with an old man. She was using my car and I was in the car with her. The accident was her fault. Early in the morning, we were late for work and my sister was tired. It was stop and go traffic and she wasn’t paying attention. She slammed right in back of some older man’s old Dodge.

The damage to my car was minor. I don’t believe there was any damage to his car. I took my insurance form out of the glove box and got out of the car. The man got out, said he was late for a doctor’s appointment, grabbed my insurance info and drove off. Next day, I got a phone call from Allstate about the accident. The man filed a claim.

The representative was very helpful and thorough. The guy said that man claimed that he or the passenger was serious injured in the accident. At time, I should have been incredibly angry. It was a just minor fender-bender. There was no way anyone was seriously injured in that accident. Luckily, everything turned out okay. The next day, I drove my car to the local Allstate office. The Allstate representative asked me a few questions about the accident and took pictures of my car which had no visible damage. Allstate handled the claim smoothly.

She said he was skeptical of the man’s claim of serious injury and they would further investigate. I didn’t hear the result of the investigation. I’m guessing the man dropped his claim or the insurance companies didn’t believe him. I don’t really recall any increase in my rates so I didn’t look any further into the issue.

Even though I’m satisfied with their service, I’ll definitely be looking for better rates in the future. My current rate is too high for two affordable economy cars. Overall, I would I would recommend Allstate but first shop around with other insurers to make sure you’re getting the best deal possible.

I first joined All State in 2008 shortly after I got my first car, a blue Chevy (2005 model). I wasn’t sure which insurance to get because it seemed like a minefield, with each company seemingly pointing out the flaws in their rivals, which made me unsure. I didn’t, and still don’t, have a lot of money so it needed to be affordable, but at the same time I didn’t want anything that wasn’t going to come through for me if I needed to cash in.

So, long story short, I got All State because I heard that it was by far the most reliable company – my quote from Geico was actually cheaper but everybody said it’s better to pay a little extra. Turns out, that’s true! I got into a minor fender bender accident the month after I got my insurance and they were great about it, I was able to contact them easily which was the main thing.

Since then I’ve had no accidents and no tickets, so I haven’t had to even call them, but that one experience does make me comfortable knowing that if I ever really had to put in a claim it would be smooth sailing. Right now I pay $360 per 6 months and that can be tough on my budget but every time I think about going to a cheaper one I just remind myself how badly my life would fall apart if my car went out of action and the insurance company wouldn’t come through. I fully trust All State would come through for me, to be honest.

The other great thing about All State is that they reward their customers pretty well. For example, I get a check every so often for being a safe driver, it’s usually not much – maybe 6% of my total bill but it’s enough to treat myself with something nice to eat, y’know, for being such a great driver! There is also a scheme that lets you keep your rates down even if you have an accident and it’s your fault – with other companies I think if you have accidents that puts your premium up for good, so I like that kind of thing could be reversible, should the worst happen.

I’m happy with All State, overall. I might change one day if I get recommended something that sounds as good but cheaper, but for now I feel a bit of loyalty to them (which I don’t usually experience with any companies!) just because they were good to me that one time, and all my friends say they have been great to them too.

In general, Allstate is a great company.

It offers quality service to it’s customers at relatively low prices. I got with Allstate at the age of 18. Being a male, this is when auto insurance is at it’s absolute highest. I called around to get a few quotes for insurance but it was all far out of my range. I even got a quote from progressive asking me to pay $800 up front and $600 a month, they probably thought I said millionaire when I said college student, though.

But after calling Allstate I felt a bit better. It was far from dirt cheap but it was far better than I’d heard from anywhere else and I’d b getting the same, if not more, services from them. They quoted me at $700 up front and $150 a month. They offered me a bunch of various discounts, as well. They’re really good with that. They offer discounts for safe drivers, good students, they offer discounts for anti-lock brakes, and even for factors that you have little to no control over like something as simple as your VIN number being etched into your windows. It was as if they scoured everywhere to find me any discounts that they could to make themselves more affordable, for me.

During the first year with them, I’d gotten into an accident. It was minor but I was at fault. Since I simply had liability coverage, the damage to my vehicle was something that I had to take care of but I was surprised and happy with the way everything else was handled because it was just that, handled. On the night of the accident, I was so afraid to call them because I would’ve hated to have my premium rise but I did anyway. When I called, they asked me a series of questions about the night and sent me on my way.

I never got a call back from them, my rates never went up, and everything continue along smoothly. I enjoyed not having to be a part of the technicalities and the legal processes of it all. I really liked the fact that Allstate looked out for me from the beginning.

It’s very rare that you can find a national chain that’ll give you the customer service of a local one I recommend Allstate to everyone that I know searching for car insurance and will continue to do so, as long as they continue to stay great.

Allstate is an excellent auto insurance company. I have been with Allstate since I started driving about four years ago. The rates were a little high then, but only because I was sixteen and had only just started driving.

Allstate prides itself in that it rewards drivers with a clean record. Because I had a clean record for my first three years driving, my cost of insurance dropped dramatically when I turned 19. My friends with clean records who have other auto insurance did not see the same kind of drop in the cost of insurance.

Not only are their costs reasonable, but an Allstate agent is always easy to reach. I have never needed to speak with a representative, no matter the hour, and not been able to. Their customer service is unparalleled. My friend tried to contact Geico after hours during an emergency this week and he had to wait until the next weekday to speak to his agent.

As far as claims go, this excellent customer service makes it easy to make a claim at any time. My father, who also has Allstate was in a car accident and needed to make a claim. It was a difficult situation for him because he was at fault and the cost of damages was extremely high. All he had to do was file a claim with his agent and literally everything else was taken care of by Allstate. They arranged for a rental for him and the driver he hit and took care of all of the communication with the other driver’s insurance. The only thing my dad had to do was pick his car up after it had been repaired. Not only that, but since it was his first accident, his insurance did not go up very high.

Allstate is being entirely serious when they advertise accident forgiveness.

I intend on staying with Allstate for the remainder of the time I will be driving and highly recommend it to anyone who is shopping for car insurance. You will be interacting with friendly and incredibly helpful agents who really make you feel like you are there to help and you will feel as though you’re paying much less than what you are getting. My whole family is insured by Allstate and I recommend it to all of my friends. It makes my life so much easier, especially in times of emergency or panic because my Allstate agent is always there to help.

When I was sixteen and had finally received my drivers license, like almost every kid I know I joined on my parents insurance policy. Being a product of a excellent driving school I even received a discount for going to a driving school.

A couple of years passed until I was eighteen when my parents thought I should be on my own insurance to protect them if I get in to a horrible accident and I was liable. In that time I never received a speeding ticket, not even a parking ticket. Not really knowing anything my parents brought me to the Allstate insurance rep near our home to explain to me how it works and what all the numbers mean, and what I am getting for my premium.

Being just a kid I joined Allstate since that was the company my parents had. I then left for college some months later, informing my agent and keeping me insurance with Allstate. All was fine for some years not until I was about twenty-three I had my first accident. Up to this point I had never had any claims, nor even a speeding ticket. The accident wasn’t even bad, my car had no damage and the guy I bumped in to had just a broken door mirror.

Well the next month I get a letter in the mail saying I had been dropped from my policy. I was outraged, my first accident ever and they decide to drop me? I called my agent back in my home town and he said they had decided to drop me because of the accident. I was pissed after seven years with Allstate they drop me just like that. I asked why after seven years being with my agent would they do this, have they no loyalty with there customers? He then said it wasn’t his choice the home office had decided the issue.

I honestly did believe him but after about ten minutes and not getting anywhere I said alright well I am sure I can find another insurance company that would want my business and my money. After being pissed I got online and realized not only was I paying a quite a bit for my coverage but I could get cheaper insurance with the same coverage.

So that is exactly what I did, after getting a few quotes from online companies I picked one company and have been with them ever since.

We have had Allstate auto insurance for over 8 years. My overall experience with them has been extremely satisfactory. That is the reason that we eventually decide to go with Allstate for our house insurance as well.

I love three things about this company: the customer service, the price, and the products they offer. In my experience, Allstate customer service has always been above and beyond awesome. We have always dealt with the SAME customer service representative for all of our issues, questions and needs. She is so lovely and will call, email, and mail anything that we need. She is always quick to respond and pleasant to deal with.

We may be able to get a slightly lower price at other companies; however, our long term relationship with our customer service representative has been the sole reason the Allstate still has our business. In our world today it is highly unlikely to deal with the same person for years. My guess is that Allstate is not only great to their customers, but, also great to their employees.

The second reason that we have stayed with Allstate is the price. As a bigger company they are able to offer competitive prices. Although they may not be the lowest, I am satisfied with the rates they were able to offer us. In addition, since we have both cars and our home owners insurance with their policy they gave us a generous discount on our total bill. The third reason that I am an Allstate loyal customer is because of the products they sell. T

hey offer a great variety of auto plans that are easy to understand. Also, it’s simple to change to another plan if need be and to add another automobile if necessary. Lastly, the products are well priced. If you cannot tell, I love our Allstate auto insurance. I would not switch for anything. The only factor that could convince us to leave might be if our beloved sales associate decided to leave. I recommend Allstate auto insurance to any of my friends and family. I give it a five star rating!

I have maintained my auto insurance coverage with Allstate for the past six years. From the very beginning, they were professional, accommodating and provided excellent customer service.

Setting up my policy with Allstate was a breeze: I called their customer service number, and after speaking with a representative for only ten minutes, I had my temporary policy card emailed to me, I was assigned a local agent and I was given an appointment to visit a nearby body shop to have photos of my car taken (for claims purposes). Furthermore, my rate with Allstate is a great value. I receive numerous coverage options at a significantly lower cost than what I was paying with my previous car insurance provider.

In terms of filing claims, Allstate makes the process as easy as possible. For example, two years ago I was hit by another motorist who failed to stop at a stop sign. Immediately after calling the police, I called Allstate. They had a tow truck to the scene of the accident several minutes before the police officer even arrived. Two hours later, they called me to take my statement, and then called again to confirm my statement after speaking with the other motorist’s insurance company. The damages to my car were fully repaired without me having to spend a dime. Additionally, my insurance rate did not increase after the accident.

Another benefit of having Allstate is that they offer drivers the opportunity to lower their insurance rates based on various qualifications. For example, I have taken advantage of their “good student discount”, as well as their “safe driver discount”, which significantly reduced my bill each month. While the “safe driver discount” was applied automatically, I had to provide additional documentation to qualify for the “good student discount”. This process, as with most other Allstate processes, was quick and painless. I simply printed an unofficial transcript from my online college account and drove two blocks down the road to the office of my local representative. He had the discount applied to my account within twenty minutes.

All in all, I would have to say that Allstate is a top choice for auto insurance. If you want great customer service and great coverage at a really great price, Allstate is the way to go. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with this company and I recommend them to friends and family regularly.

As one of the most well known insurance companies in the market, you know you’re dealing with a company you can trust- to a degree. The way they’ve distinguished themselves is by having my account assigned to a local agent, who has a hands on approach whenever I have any questions or concerns. I’ve spoke to the local representatives, and since I’ve called several times before, I usually speak with the same people.

The downside seems to be that the prices are not that competitive, at least for me they are not. I’ve tried shopping around and I’ve seen some companies give me a much higher price, some similar, but also some a lot lower. But I’ve had Allstate for a while now, and I haven’t had any major issues with them, so I’m not inclined to switch at the moment. But, who knows? If something happens and I have to tighten my budget, it may be a possibility.

Overall, though, the service has been consistent and friendly. I haven’t had any major claims, luckily, but I have had a few incidences of my windshield cracking, due to various pebbles being flung about on the high way. It’s a fairly new car, so I still had glass coverage on the insurance. I wanted it to be fixed right away, but I didn’t have time to take it to a shop. The representative was able to find me a nearby Allstate approved glass repair shop to come to my house, where my car was parked while I was at work, and fix it for me. Since I wasn’t present, they just needed someone else (a friend) to give them my keys. The first time I had my glass repaired, I was very impressed by the rep’s professional and friendly demeanor. They were very efficient, and quickly noted my needs.

I don’t pay too much mind to my policy. My payments are automated monthly, so it takes care of itself. A couple of months ago, my credit card was expiring, and my agent actually called me to remind me about the expiration. I guess I’m just comforted knowing that if I have an issue I can have someone I already have a relationship with deal with it. Whenever I call, or stop by, they also mention the other insurances they sell, but they are very nice about it, so it doesn’t feel like they’re shoving it down my throat.

After being with Allstate for a few years and receiving emails and mail correspondence for the most pointless news and advertisings; they added a person I did not know without even calling or sending an email. I found out that my premium just magically increased from $270 to $349 because of a Driver I never authorized. After going through the hassle of paperwork to exclude this person I do not know out of my policy they decide they have to increase it anyways because the discount they had applied for a new car for the mystery driver no longer applied. I decided to terminate my policy since I found a much better rate and customer service with AAA, $260 for the same coverage and tons of more benefits Two weeks later Allstate charge my account for the following month because they never filed my cancellation and I am still waiting for the Agent to call me about a refund. If you ever think of doing business with this Agency RUN… RUN as fast as you can away from it. Don t fall into Allstate s hands… you are far from being in good hands

Allstate Insurance is an amazing company to be insured by. When calling into their 24/7 call center, I am always greeted by a friendly voice who genuinely seems to care about me and my insurance needs.

I’ve been with several of the major insurers over the years and I’ve found several things wrong with all of them. Typically, they make it very difficult to be self-sufficient. When I call into their call centers I am confronted by a hostile person with their scripted sales pitches. Allstate, however, politely asks if they can discuss other products with me. If I have time, I will be more then happy to listen as I value the company as a whole and know that they won’t suggest anything to me that I wouldn’t need.

Not only can I trust any Allstate employee to treat me well and value my needs, but I can always count on the stability on the product I’m buying. Allstate has been in America for over 80 years now. In several states, they are rolling out the Claims Satisfaction Guarantee, which promises that if I am not satisfied with how they handled a specific claim of mine, they will give me back the premium I have paid them. Allstate is known for their claims department and this campaign is a bold statement showing just how amazing it is.

I have called Allstate to file the claim and received nothing but empathy not only by my adjuster (I only spoke with one), but by everyone I came in contact with along the way. They were

Nothing, however, will beat the ease of access. In my city I not only have local agents all around me, but I rarely need to go into one. Most things needing done can be done online. If it’s something I’m not able to do online, I can always call their 24/7 call center and someone will answer in a timely fashion eager to complete me request. Most types of insurance can be written in the call centers as well. And they will be written not by pushy sales people but by someone who attempts to understand my needs and what would work best for me. Allstate is an amazing company to do business with and I encourage all those whose eyes reach this article to call them today.

With the logical investment strategy Allstate possesses I know that my family will be taken care of by some of the best insurance professionals on the planet.

We had allstate homeowners for 25 years here in florida. They terminated our policy, because we knew the agent we decided not to cancel our auto ins. Last year and the year before we received two increases of $100. The resonwas because they were stealing cars in tampa 40 miles from our home we would have our auto ins, raised. I just received a quote from auto owners ins. for $376 a year less expensive than allstate. We hate to leave this kind agent, but we feel his company is not doing the right thing.

One of Allstate’s client’s hit me from behind going 65 Mph while i was stopped in traffic. This caused the cars to catch on fire and blow up. I lost everything in the car and All State does not deny my personal items or claims but wants to only give me $2000 LESS of my claim because they claim my items are used. They want to deduct money from MY belongings when their client blew my car up? I lost car keys, an ipod, shoes, medication, my daughters car seat, my daughters belongings, my lap top, lap top bag and other items i had inside. I have copies of the police report, pictures of the scene (their client never braked), all copies of paperwork admitting their clients fault and more. The fact that it has been almost 2 months and we can not replace anything is ridiculous. All State seems to think that because my daughters favorite stuffed animals were ‘loved’ that i can accept pennies on the dollar for what they are worth? They think that because I wore a pair of shoes TWICE they are worth less? I can not replace anything, and would have all of my belongings if their client had been paying attention on the road. I was knocked out in my car and another driver had to wake me up to get out as it bursted into flames. The driver was arrested for driving drunk, driving over a hillside and damaging his car weeks before he hit me! He had just gotten his car back from the repair shop 3/19 and wrecked into me 3/21! Their client shared all of this information at the scene of the accident and took full responsibilty. All i want to do is get my life back together and replace the things we have lost. I have tried to work with customer service this whole time and they do not want to cooperate. This is the worst customer service experience of my life, i do not know how they can treat me like I am the one at fault when i could have lost my life that day. Allstate makes you feel like you are in one of their Mayhem commercials. they must get their ideas from claims from their clients that they deny and put through further hell.

I am a very big fan of using Allstate for my auto insurance. My monthly fees are very reasonably priced. If ever I am in need of something, all I have to do is call up or visit my local Allstate agent with whatever I need and they almost always immediately resolve any issues I may be having. There have been times while I was stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky. that I was very glad to have Allstate.

When my insurance card expired, I called my agent and my temporary one was emailed to me to use until my replacement arrived. This was very important because having proof of automobile insurance is mandatory on Army installations. Even though Allstate is a very large company, they have amazing customer service. Any time I have had to contact an Allstate representative, I have always been treated like a most valued customer.

Many places in today’s world lack that, so it is very refreshing to see, especially in such a large company. During last fall while I was still stationed at Fort Campbell, I was driving to work early in the morning. On my way a deer ran into the side of my car. I called Allstate and was set up with an adjuster the next day. The Allstate adjuster was very thorough and respectful.

I was given a claim number and check for repairs that same day so I could repair my vehicle. I was in and out of the place within 45 minutes and did not have to wait to be taken care of at all. One of the main reasons why I plan on staying with Allstate is because of something that happened 3 years ago. My wife bought me a 1961 Ford Thunderbird from a car show in Indiana. We decided to use a transport company to bring the vehicle to our home in Louisiana.

When the vehicle arrived my wife and I were out of town. The driver failed to securely strap the tie downs down. So, the entire trip, the straps were banging against my car. We had the damage appraised from three different appraisals and sent them to the company. Well, the company absolutely refused to pay for the amount that the appraisals came back at.

We gave the information to our Allstate agent and our vehicle claim was covered while Allstate took care of the issue with the transport company. I recommend to anyone looking for good affordable auto insurance to give Allstate a try

I have been an Allstate customer for about five years. I started my policy with them upon moving to Georgia and haven’t been disappointed.

I have had three claim experiences with them.. one for a chip in my windshield, and two for accidents (one caused by another driver, one by my husband). The first claim was for an accident in which I was rear-ended by another driver (who wasn’t paying attention) at a high rate of speed. My vehicle had almost $3000 in damage. I immediately called my Allstate agent and through their advice, did not file a claim with them, as it would cause my rates to increase.

Even though I wasn’t going through them, they assisted me with various aspects of the claim and were very helpful. The second claim I had was for a chip in my windshield. A rock flew up and hit the glass, and I had a chip (my first one!). I called Allstate, they set up an appointment with a repair company that came out to my place of work, and everything was handled for me. I didn’t have to worry about paperwork or payment.

The third claim I had with them was for another accident in which my husband rear-ended someone with my car. My car was the one with all of the damage and the adjuster from Allstate met me at the body shop to estimate the work. He cut me a check right then and there to cover the damage beyond my deductible. We were concerned about the other driver falsely claiming damages and injuries and expressed this to the adjuster and the agent handling us, and were reassured they go over everything to make sure no false claims are submitted.

After a few phone calls, everything was taken care of. It was surprisingly stress-free. We’ve had some bad experiences with car insurance in the past, and people trying to take advantage of the

All in all, I’m very happy with Allstate as a car insurance provider. Their service is always helpful. Even when we had some trouble paying our bill this winter, they held off payment for a few months and allowed us some time to come up with the money for it without having to worry about our policy being cancelled. In my experience, they’ve always been willing to offer advice when I need it, even when it’s not directly related to my vehicle.

Another thing I was very happy with was the great pricing we got when adding in my husband’s vehicles to my policy when we got married. On his own, he was paying MORE than we are with Allstate with three vehicles on the policy!

My experience with Allstate couldn’t have been better. In 20 years, we’ve had two accidents, one no-fault, and one at-fault, and both have been handled with empathy, polite helpfulness, and a sense of urgency to resolve the issue. Our policy has been reevaluated by our agent, who managed to save us money with the same level of coverage, and our premiums have gone down over the years due to their good driver discount program. We also have homeowners insurance through them but I have no experience with claims, so I can’t say anything about it, other than it is reasonably priced for the coverage.

I have had three different insurance companies over the course of my 14 years driving experience. Never for an accidents, but because I’ve been in college and always looking for the best deal. I carry more than the state minimum coverage and drive a moderate car (Ford Taurus).

I have found that AllState is the most caring, concerned and reasonably priced company I’ve experienced thus far; this is in comparison with Farmer’s and State Farm. When we had a horrible tornado last year, my agent called to make sure we were all okay and hadn’t suffered any damage, which thankfully we had not. He has always been very quick to respond to calls if I ever have any questions and most of all he offered me the greatest discount on my insurance. I got a discount for being a student, a safe driver, paying on auto-pay and no accidents in the past 5 years.

I have also since insured my home with AllState, because again, they were the cheapest, offered the best customer service and in the case of both the home and car insurance they offered me more coverage for less money! I have not had to file a claim with AllState, but when my neighbor’s pre-teen ran their dirt bike into the side of my car, intentionally, I called my agent to explain what happened and see if he could force the issue with the parents of said pre-teen.

He said that wouldn’t be a problem at all. Not only did he make the call, the parents came over and apologized and offered to fix the damage. (The damage was minimal, a small dent a little bit of scuffed paint. I was more upset that the pre-teen thought this was acceptable behavior and I did not want the behavior to continue). So, there was no need to file a claim because the matter was resolved. However, I have every confidence that if there was a need to file, my agent would be very helpful in all aspects.

AllState offers a wide range of services and prices and they also offer great customer which makes it not only worth the money, but less painful to deal with should you ever have to file a claim. I know, filing a claim is never a plesant experience, but you always want to make it as painless as possible and I’ve found this to be true with AllState.

AllState is a fantastic deal for college students

On December 22, 2011, I was cut off while driving on the highway. The vehicle that cut me off slammed on their brakes causing me to strike the rear of a 3rd vehicle when swerving to avoid direct impact. The accident was sent to my insurance company and I was patiently awaiting the phone call to tell me my insurance will sky rocket shortly. Instead I receive a friendly phone call from an understanding agent. He got my side of the story, and met with his supervisors to fight my case. Allstate found me at 0% fault for avoiding a more serious accident. They covered the repair of the 3rd vehicle, and did not raise my insurance a cent. Although, their fee’s are very affordable to begin with. At just $100 a month for my explorer you cant go wrong. They also offer a plethora of good driver discounts including simply taking a defensive driving course online to lower your next bill! They are very helpful, caring, and understanding. Very happy we decided to stick with Allstate. Are you in Good Hands?|

This (Allstate) is a horrible company to deal with. Even if they gave me a good rate, I would not be associated with this company because it would be just a matter of time until the get there mone back off of me. When I had gotten in an accident in the past and had to settle with other insuranc ecompanies with an attroney involved, I remember them saying “just be glad we’re not dealign with Allstate”. I never knew what thay meant nor cared until now!

I was in an accident where an Allstate insured was clearly at fault. The person admitted fault and the police report indicated they were at fault. When speaking to there insurance company Allstate, they had a terrible attitude and discouraged every attempt by me to come to a fair resolution. When I wanted to get my own estimates their response was “it doesn’t matter what you get we only pay what our adjuster says it costs repair”. I understand the purpose of an adjuster but they don’t have tools like a shop has toold and can only see visible damage. They may come close but are not necessarily accurate. Why would I solely rely on a shop or someone employed by Allstate when clearly they have Allstate’s best interest in mind. Having said that, the response is what’s not approriate.

I mentioned I am not sure yet and that I may decide to contact an attorney since I received bodily injury. The response was “We strongly advice against that. If you do that than this conversation is over and it ends here.” I understand that once I contact an attorney that future communication is with that attorney, but the response to advise against it and the tone of threat is not approriate either.

When I requested to have my rental vehicle covered while my car is being repaired, they insisted that they only pay for the rental and not the insurance. In my state, I am not required to have collision insurance so I had liability on my car that their insured wrecked. If I had been paying for collission already I don’t care they can just pay me for rental. However, they insist the extra cost that I had to incur by taking on insurance for the rental to cover the inconvenience that their driver had created for me was solely on my tab. This is wrong. It was their insured’s fault and all I was looking for is to make it whole without any extra cost to me. They claim they are not required by law to do this. I understand that it is not a requirement by law but as a good “do the right thing move” they should have done that.

Overall they have a bully like mentality and could care less about the right thing but what they can get away with within the confines of the the law. They say you do a good think and that person may tell one other person, but if you do a bad thing they may tell 5 others… well that holds true. I have told many people how horrible this company is and will continue to do so until they change there attitude and policies. Maybe one day they get the message because I’m not the only one complaining from what I have been reading.

I was in a car accident in November 2010. I injured my lower back and neck in this accident. As far as the car repair end of it, they were A+. However, as far as medical claims go, I have never been treated so rudely in my life by the claims adjuster. I have been given every excuse in the book why they won’t cover deep tissue massage. According to the Chiropractor’s billing agent, they were told that Allstate had several excuses why the massage isn’t being paid. As an example, Allstate claimed that they had the wrong tax id number. Then they were told that they didn’t receive EOBs from my health insurance. It’s been one excuse after another.

A few months ago my Chiropractor said he was told by the owner of his practice that he was no longer allowed to give me deep tissue massage until at least a portion of the bill iwas paid. Although he was told not to, he felt strongly that I truly needed to continue the massage, and he went against the owner of the company and continued.

Well, today (6/30/2011) when I went for my adjustment and massage, he informed me that the owner said he will not allow another massage until payment is received. I can understand his point because the bill is now over $2,000.00.

I have not lost one day of work because of the accident even though I have A LOT of pain. However, without the deep tissue massage, I’m not sure if I will be able to handle the pain. My massage therapist said my back is a mass of knotted muscles. It is so bad that you can actually feel one knot through my shirt.

Allstate has been our insurance carrier for 19 years. We have never had to use the medical aspect of our insurance before and always felt that even thought the insurance premium is high we would be compensated if we needed it. WRONG!

All I have gotten from Allstate is a bunch of lies and a big medical bill. Oh, plus being treated rudely from the claims adjuster!

There is a woman that is receiving one hour massages three times a week and she said she has Farmer’s insurance. She said they have been fantastic and have taken very good care of her. I told her my experience with Allstate and she said “you should switch to Farmer’s Insurance, they will take care of you”.

Wish I had known that before my accident! Please do your homework before you choose an insurance company. It doesn’t matter how expensive your premium is, it’s just an illusion to think you get what you pay for, at least with Allstate Insurance.

Allstate Insurance is a rip-off. They practice the friends and family plan, and if you are neither, they practice the deny, delay, and defend tactics. I have been fighting a claim since Dec 2004. The adjuster dispatched to provide an estimate used a program and had no first hand knowledge of construction an construction costs; he simply input numbers in a program. I worked in the construction industry for years and the amount offered to repair the damages was unrealistic. I asked the adjuster to provide the names of contractors, (licensed, bonded, and reputable), willing to repair the damages for the amount offered. He refused stating that would be a conflict of interest.

I obtained three independent quotes from contractors I had absolutely no knowledge of, or relationship with, to make the repairs. Allstate offered approximately $614 and the lowest quote I obtained was over $4,000. I wrote, called, requested reconsideration from Allstate, and they denied and delayed my claim. I am still waiting for redress. The kicker is my premium is not cheap compared to other “reputable” (used loosely), companies.

Ask any insurance company how they pay out claims and the qualifications and experience of their adjusters prior to selecting the company. Check the Better Business Bureau and other reviews. Allstate is a terrible insurance company.

My family and I were T-boned almost two weeks ago. We are a one-car-family, and don’t have much in the way of property. We have had our Allstate policies for well over 7 years now. The teen girl who hit us is insured through State Farm. After assessing the damage, State Farm wants to total out my car. Allstate is saying “no”. We have the New car policy that is supposed to help us replace our car (it was a 2009, so it qualifies), Allstate had their assessor come take a look and he assessed the damages to be $2000 less than State Farm. Allstate is going to have my car fixed instead of totaled out. I was told by a claims officer that it doesn’t matter what State Farm reports, Allstate is going to have my car fixed because it’ll cost more for them to pay me for the New Car policy that I bought!

I was not at fault for this at all. The teen told the officer that she didn’t even try to stop at the stop sign before hitting my car. She got a ticket, I didn’t. Allstate doesn’t want to help me, they want to get out of this by paying as little as possible. Our lives have been turned up-side-down because of this accident. We shouldn’t be the ones who are punnished. We pay for our policies and Allstate isn’t keeping up with their end of the bargain. After all this, I think we’re switching to State Farm.

My brother has had Allstate for a bit over 6 years. His Homeowners policy was with Allstate as well. Being in Florida, he was targeted as a No-Renewal with Allstate even though after paying for coverage with them since 1978 he had NEVER made a claim. Additionally he never made ANY claim on ANY policy he had with Allstate. Last year Allstate was kind enough to drop his homeowners insurance.

I found hi, a lesser rate and more benefits since that happened. He asked me to call Allstate regarding the accident forgiveness ( where they cut you a check for being a good driver) NADA. I was talking with someone in Aurangabad India. I asked them simply the name of the policy which gives bonuses back. She could NOT answer that question. She said I needed to be the owner of the policy.

Mind you, I never asked a single question about my brothers policy. I simply wanted the NAME of the policy I would be needing in case I wanted to sign up. NOPE. As a good brother, do you think I should start seeking other agencies to help him? I am being needlessly sarcastic. I just find it reprehensible that after being a golden customer and never being late in payments, nor ever complaining, not one person from Allstate calls my brother to really attend to him. Caveat Emptor (spelling).

I recently got rid of my second car, so the rate changed. It went up because the discount for two autoes was dropped. I have not been in an accident or filed a claim in over ten years. There were no deductions. I had someone review the policy and discovered that I was not covered enough and paying way over the top. Now I have twice the coverage and so much more for half of what I was paying.
I was over paying and way undercovered. The agent was nice and polite. I’ve been with the company state Farm for 20 years. It was not worth the money or the risk.

We moved across the country a year ago and had to switch insurance companies, so chose Allstate because it was the best price for what we got. We have been very happy with them so far! About 7 months ago I was hit by someone who ran a red light and my car was totaled. The other driver also had Allstate insurance. We are on a very tight budget so I was very worried that we would not get any money to replace our car. I was pleasantly surprised to receive more money than I expected to help replace my car! There was also no hassle to get my daughter’s car seat replaced and her medical bills paid. The agent called several times to keep me updated. It was a great experience and we will be staying with Allstate!

A year or so ago, I was involved in a minor car accident where the other driver was at fault. Immediately I gathered the insurance information from the other driver and began the process of calling Allstate. I was immediately connected to an operator who began taking the information.

One of the things that struck me about Allstate was the customer service. This individual couldn’t have been nicer about the situation. She asked if everyone was ok and if we needed any medical attention. Once she was able to assess that everyone was fine, she began asking questions about the accident. She was very patient with me, as a few times I really had to organize my thoughts. The phone call was thorough, correct and quick.

Once the claim had been processed, I was able to have a check in my hand almost immediately to pay for my vehicle damage. I never had to wait for long periods of time to get my car evaluated and sent to a local body shop for service. Allstate took matters in their own hands and kept me worry free during the whole process.

My only complaint with Allstate is the premium. I felt for the kind of coverage I had, the overall costs should have been less. I ran into a job financial situation and had to change insurance carriers to save quite a bit of money. Because this is a review for Allstate, I won’t get into my new carrier. I just want to be clear that the only reason I changed was strictly to save money. Allstate did great work for me when I had them. If you can afford a somewhat expensive but not over the top policy, I would whole-heartedly recommend Allstate.

By the way, you can get plenty of discounts through Allstate such as a good drivers discount and bundled homeowner’s policy.

TO ALL OF YOU THAT HAVE ALLSTATE AND THINK THEY ARE NOT RIPPING YOU OFF..,THINK AGAIN!

#1. THEY ADVERTISE ACCIDENT-FREE REBATES IF YOU GO SO LONG WITHOUT A VIOLATION OR AN ACCIDENT. FIRST OF ALL, YOU PAY EXTRA FOR THAT SERVICE! I LOOKED ON MY POLICY AND SAW THAT THEY GIVE YOU A DISCOUNT ON YOUR POLICY, NOT AN ACTUAL CHECK. THAT SMALL DISCOUNT ON MY 6-MONTH PREMIUM DID NOT COME FOR FREE..AND THAT FEE WAS “NOT” ON THE ITEMIZED BILL…I WAS NEVER ADVISED BY MY AGENT I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR THIS…

#2. I ALSO HAD NO IDEA THAT I WAS ALSO PAYING FOR A SERVICE CALLED “AUTOMATIC RENEWAL”. ACCORDING TO ALLSTATE, THIS SERVICE ALLOWS THE DRIVER TO HAVE MULTIPLE AT-FAULT ACCIDENTS AS TO WHICH ALLSTATE “CANNOT” DROP YOU. YES, YOUR RATES WILL GO UP AS WITH MOST CARRIERS BUT ALLSTATE PROTECTS YOU FROM YOUR POLICY BEING CANCELLED…AGAIN, I WAS NEVER ADVISED BY MY AGENT THAT I WAS BEING CHARGED FOR THIS “AND” IT IS NOT ON MY ITEMIZED STATEMENT.

AFTER CALLING MY AGENT, HE SAID HE WOULD RE-WORK MY POLICY AND SEE WHAT HE COULD DO. AFTER ALL THIS, I FOUND OUT AFTER TAKING OFF THE “RENEWAL” AND “ACCIDENT FREE” COVERAGES, MY MONTHLY PAYMENT WENT DOWN $20/MONTH! IF I KNEW THIS 10 YEARS AGO WHEN I FIRST WENT WITH ALLSTATE, THATS A TOTAL OF $2400.00 OVER THE LIFE OF THE POLICY I COULD HAVE SAVED!

NOW THAT I AM MARRIED, I AM LOOKING INTO OTHER OPTIONS AS WELL AS GOING ONTO MY WIFE’S POLICY WITH STATE FARM (FOR WHOM SHE HAS BEEN WITH FOR 20+ YEARS).

I COULD NEVER CONTINUE WITH ALLSTATE…SOMETIMES PRICE DOESN’T MATTER, IT IS HOW THEY TREAT YOU AND AFTER THIS, THERE IS NO WAY I COULD TRUST THEM AGAIN!

I have been with Allstate for over 25 years insuring house and cars. A TV commercial mentions rebates if you do not have an accident for 6 months. I have never received any such rebate. What’s the real story?

I have received very good service and good rates from Allstate in Utah. I have two cars, and am able to suspend all but the comprehensive during the months that one does not get driven due to weather, saving me quite a bit of money. The insurance agent is always available when I call and very quickly processes any changes that need to be made. Also, by having Allstate provide both car and homeowners insurance I get a substantial discount on a combined policy. As one car is older and not very valuable in terms of replacement price, the agent has suggested ways to reduce the coverage costs and once again cut my overall insurance expenses. I am very pleased with the service I have received from Allstate.

I have enjoyed being an Allstate customer for the last year for many reasons. For one, they mail me a detailed statement every month so I know exactly what I am paying for. This gives me the security that I’m not being ripped off. Secondly, filing a claim with them is very quick and easy. I’ve only had to file one accident claim with them in the past year. They sent an adjuster to the house with two days to assess my vehicle. Once they determined the vehicle was totaled, we negotiated a price that we both thought was fair. I’ve never had an insurance company negotiate with me. My premiums have stayed low, even after getting a new car. There really is nothing to complain about. I couldn’t ask for any more.

I’ve had Allstate insurance for over 15 years. They’ve always been very consisten in their policies and prices. Through them, I have three vehicles insured as well as my home. In all the years I’ve had Allstate, I’ve had to file only one claim.

When filing the claim I was expecting a long and drawn out process but was surprised on how quickly and accurately it was handled. There was no hassle and no waiting for the claim to be setteled. I was also surprised that my insurance didn’t even go up after I filed the claim. The come very highly recommended from me. Every agent or customer service person I’ve ever dealt with has been very friendly and it seems they really care about the customers.

I WAS WITH ALLSTATE FOR OVER 20 YEARS WITH BOTH CARS AND HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE.

THEY CLAIM ON THE TV THAT YOU GET A REBATE CHECK WHEN YOU ARE TICKET AND ACCIDENT FREE.

I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A REBATE; IS THIS FALSE ADVERTISING?

I have been with them for around four years and have never recieved anything from the company but rate increases and a slack in customer service. Insurance preiums are going down but my landlord policy more than doubled for no reason that could be offered. State Farm offered all my policies for what I was paying for one with Allstate. I have not had any accidents or tickets either!!

It’s not exactly false advertising – my agent tells me that they don’t offer that in NY ( where I live).
My biggest annoyance with them besides that is that their customer service is in INDIA – I don’t want to support any company who is not supporting our economy

I have been insured with Allstate for nearly 25 years. I have had multiple policies with them, including auto, renters, homeowner’s and life. During that time, I have also had several claims, everything from having my windshield shattered due to a stone hitting it to a big collision when I hit black ice on a highway. I have ALWAYS found them to be responsive, responsible and helpful. I use the services of both my local agent and their toll free number (1-800-ALLSTATE).

It is very easy to file a claim as it can be done over the phone 24/7. In one instance, a large truck backed right into me. I needed my car right away so Allstate covered getting me a rental and got the repairs started on my vehicle while THEY worked out the coverage issues with the truck’s company. I also use a preferred repair shop. This is one that Allstate has pre-approved for repairs on the vehicles that they cover. This saves me time in having to get estimates for repairs when needed.

It depends on the coverage you select, but I get free car rental if I’ve been in an accident and I have a low $250 deductible. My policy also has a good rate (multiple insurances packaged together) and I get a refund every 6 months for being a good driver. I plan on keeping Allstate Insurance for a long time to come.

I was involved in a car accident where I rear-ended a car that was driving in front of me. I was going about five miles per hour and it was bumper to bumper traffic at rush hour. The other person who was involved in the accident tried to take advatage of the situation and sue for thousands of dollars. Allstate was very helpful throughout the whole process. I had to deal not only with the claims department but also the legal department. They helped prepare me for the whole process and answered my questions and concerns along the way. I would highly reccomend them for their excellent service. The Allstate legal department did a great job of preparing my case when it went to trial.

Allstate has been great. We have never had a problem with them when we have had a claim. Even when we called and the damage estimate was below our deductible after the car was scratched, they were good about helping us find a good repair shop without increasing our rates. We have been with the company for our auto and home policies for many years. Our rates have been low the entire time and I have never gotten a lower quote for either when I compare rates.

Even with new drivers, the rates have been lower than my son’s friends were paying. Our agent got on the phone with my son when he first got his license and explained to him the importance of careful driving and how insurance worked. It was much more effective than when we tried to tell him the same thing. The agent was patient with him and made sure he really understood how the rates could go up with tickets or accidents and how they would go down with a proven incident free track record and for getting good grades.

We have been with this company for almost 15 years and absolutely love it. When I got into an accident, not my fault, the insurance company worked it out where it didn’t go on my record and rates didn’t increase. They did this because there had never been any other claims with the company. We also like this company because we get return calls right away and they are always very courteous. We will be staying with this company for many years to come.

We have been with Allstate since 2003 with first rental then home owners insurance as well as both our cars. We have never had to file a claim, but every year we have been pleasantly surprised by a decrease in our rates. Our agent is always available and helpful. I highly recommend this company.

We have had our car insurance through Allstate since 1997. I have no big complaints other than they claim if you have a good driving record the rates will decrease. We have not filed a claim in over 6 years and our rates have not dropped at all. I am not sure how comparable the rates are as we have been with them so long, rates for new clients could be higher. We did have problems receiving our ID cards this last renewal period. I did contact our agent and his staff was helpful in resolving the issue. Overall, I do feel a sense of security with Allstate.
