Travelers Insurance has been nothing but courteous, helpful and available in the three years that I have been using their services. When I first signed up I needed to have my insurance cards immediately, within minutes they had the cards faxed to my work fax number. The representatives are always patient in giving me quotes with several different options. I recently moved and am trying to decide whether I want to keep both of my cars or if it would be better to sell. When I called the representative went through several different scenarios with me so I can make the choice that is best for me.
Since I have never had a claim with Travelers I am unable to give a fair assessment of their care in that department, but if their Customer Service is any indication I am sure it would be as pleasant as something like that can be.

I use Travelers because I get a discount from my work. I work for an insurance broker and our agency writes business with Travelers. I have not had any problems with them so far, but I have never had a claim while I have been with them. As far as I know their pricing is good, but I get a discount. Service seems to be good as far as I can tell. Coverage also seems to be fine. If someone asked me my option on them, I would definitely recommend Travelers to anyone who would ask me. But like I said I have never had a claim with them, so I have not had to deal with them in a stressful situation, but I do not see any reason why they would not perform well and meet my needs.

Overall rating of this company based on customer service would be above average.
Still based on my experience with the insurance industry prospective customers should understand that Travelers has some unique billing practices not applicable to other brand name companies. It would appear to be the corporate policy of Travelers to increase the automobile insurance rate a modest amount should you finance a new car or finance in general. Thus, like most of us if you bank finance your new car expect travelers to build into the rate an extra charge.

I was rear ended by a man who has Travelers Insurance, it is now 2 months after I PROMPTLY put in my claim and Travelers has yet to settle this matter. First of all it took them 3 weeks to FINALLY send an adjuster out, the adjuster low balled us on the estimate of damages and I had to get several estimates on damages to my car, which were almost double that which Travelers quoated me. I called NUMEROUS times and their agent Brenda Rice would not return my phone calls, it was ONLY after I contacted her supervisor and reported them to the Kansas Insurance commissioner that I recieved any kind of reply. Then it was another 2 weeks before I was informed that they did not know if the person that hit me was insured or not because his truck was under a 30 day tag. I had been told on more than one occassion that they would be setteling this matter and cutting me a check for damages. They also told me they would have to consider the car totlaed because the amount of damages exceeded the bluebook price of my car. After 2 months I am STILL no closer to closure on this matter. The man who hit us gave false information, I asked the insurance adjuster Brenda Rice to give me his correct information so I could file a court case so I can be compensated in this matter and they will not help me in this matter. Travelers Insurance will not tell me if he does or does not have insurance and they will not give me correct information so I can persue this matter if he does not have valid insurance at the time of the accident. You would be an idiot to go with this shyster company no matter how cheap their rates are. Go with a reputable Insurance company and Travelers is NOT one of them.

Travelers was really good to me until a 250 pound buck hit my car and did 7,000 worth of damage to my new SUV. It was not my fault. Travelers paid the claim right away and they were very nice… … However with in a few months my rate more than doubled from 90.00 a month to 225.00 No other accidents or claims. So we left the company!

I had Travelers Homeowers and my agent told me I would save all this money if I bundled by policies. BAD IDEA Every year my insurance on Home & car would increase until I was paying close to $400 more a year on my car! Then I had a small fender bender, a huge SUV backed into me and of course had an Uninsured Driver. Travlers adjustors were horrid. I had 8 or 9 different people and one woman who treated me like I was a red headed step child. They totalled my car which was older and in perfect working condition.. and I was banged up— so I felt to be treated half way fairly, was forced to retain an attorney.
