I am amazed at the fantastic price that I get from The Hartford. I’m with ARRP, so that has a lot to do with it. I’ve been with them for over five years and have only had one fender bender, when someone backed into my parked car. I notified the claims center, after exchanging information, in case the other driver’s insurance company called them. I only carry collision, on that car, since it is an older car. The claims officer got very paranoid, asking me if I understood that my car wasn’t covered, under my policy. I managed to calm her down and tried to explain that I was just notifying them, in case the other insurance company called. She asked me three times, totaled, if I understood that my car wasn’t covered. I must admit that it does worry me a little, but I am counting on AARP, to carry some weight with them, if I ever have to make a claim.

I have had Hartford for 10 years and they droped me because of a clarical error on their part. when I called they said that once the canclation process has started they can’t reverse it, even thought they admited fault. When I called and compared quotes to other service providers I found I had been overpaying 25%!

I purchased a USED vehicle [2001] in 2007, Upon advising this insurance company of my purchase, the correct odometer reading was given to the insurance representative..This company configures insurance rates per mileage driven in a 2 year period, adjusting their rates per policy holder accordingly. [as advised by the CSR I spoke with]
Imagine the unpleasant shock I received when I received their annual policy renewal notice this past week..it was for over $1,000.00!..I called the office and complained about the $400.00 increase..Upon investigating, they found that the mileage recorded in their system was only 77 miles, instead of 77,000 miles…In order for me to receive an amended bill, I must submit to them the original mileage when I purchased the vehicle in 2007..in other words, I have to jump through hoops because of their errors…I opted instead to go elsewhere..How many other people are they doing this to besides me?

I cancelled my insurance and car policy with aarp, they do not protect their customers, when I had damages in my house caused by a contractor, it took many days for the adjuster from aarp to come and he did not care about my problem and I ended up fighting with him, finally the other insurance company paid in full and the adjuster was friendly and very considered with me. If you have insurance with that company it will be better if you cancelled their services, that what I did, now I got State Farm.

I have had Hartford Insurance for 10 years, through AARP..It started out low, but each birthday is an increase. I sold a car and bought another, called them and gave information. When renewal came up realized they had not insured new car, I was driving for months with no insurance. Then got new policy and it had gone up over 400.00, they took the miles down wrong. Got that straight and decided to check other insurance companies…everyone (4) gave me a lower quote and with more coverage. I have never had a claim with them and now will go on to another company. They sent me a letter about renewal and they even had my last name wrong…STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, just sorry I didn’t wise up sooner, would have save myself lots of money.

I have had Hartford for about 3 years now, my claim is being denied because I don’t have collision insurance, have comprehensive with $100.00 deductible , the claim started as a glass breakage of my camper shell rear window , only stated simply as it was bumped and broke into a million pieces , the claim was accepted, the problem is the manufacture Glasstite no longer makes a rear window for the Targa shell , was new in 1999, so Hartford had me contact their RV Company , they could not make one due to it had a 110 deg curve, they told me to find a local Denver company to make it, only had one estimate of $2000.00; then was told to change it to a non-glass claim, that is when the problems started, I was told loading of materials is not covered unless I have collision, even though I was parked when the glass door fell and hit the wood, I could not find this exception in my policy,( the service rep. wrote it up to replace it) if they don’t replace the shell minus my deductible , I will be looking for another insurance company,

Hartford is the worst insurance company i have ever knew…. It never accepts claims and cheats everyone. they are interested only in their profit. Very bad

I was insured by the Hartford Co. I had a accident in 2/2011. A car backed into me. I was injured and the Hartford re fuses to honor my claim, I was not at fault. The Hartford Co. has told so many lies I do not know what to do. The Hartford Co. should be run out of town.

I was in a head-on collision with one of their clients. During the first week after the accident they failed to return my phone calls. Then when I finally talked with the supervisor she was abrasive and rude saying, “You can’t just call here making demands.” I was simply asking how long I could keep the rental car after the offer was made by my insurance on the totaled car. Because of this treatment I am getting a lawyer and I advise you to do the same.

Genuinely the worst service I have ever received. It’s like everytime I called the Hartford and gave them information they immediately deleted it. I hope I never have to come in contact with another Hartford representative again. then again all insurance companies are the devil

I just joined Hartford insurance (auto and home) and unfortunately had a comprehensive accident within the first month. Theclaim was processed promptly with no hassels. Very courteouscustomer service and claim handler. Absolutely no complaints.
