I was with State Farm for several years and assumed that going anywhere else for my basic single-car policy wouldn't result in a significant savings. My rate jumped a bit when I bought another car (the same econobox kind of car, but 10 years newer and with the more sophisticated computer controls of its generation), then jumped again for no apparent reason. Neither time did I get any notice or explanation, which I took as disregard for customers' budgeting needs. I called my State Farm representative and was told that the second jump was a standard rate adjustment. That's not an unreasonable insurance practice (a notice or explanation is still in order), but the main issue was that my rate had gone up by about 35% within two years. It was time to shop around.

I called one of the companies that advertises low rates and ended up with higher coverage amounts at a rate 46% less than I was paying at State Farm. I don't yet know what the customer service experience will be should I ever need to call on the new company, but I'm not about to turn down a 46% savings over fear of a bad experience that I could as easily have with any company.

My husband and I had State Farm Insurance for probably 24 years and we were very satisfied with the service we received. However when my daughter turned 16 I requested a price quote to add her and it was astronomical. I then started to check around. I got in touch with Country Companies and they gave me a far better quote. I called my State Farm agent back and gave hime the opportunity to match this quote and he told me he could not possibly match it. I was amazed since we had been with them for so many years that he was so willing to let us go. Since then we have been with Country Companies, about 14 years who I would like to add is the only insurance company out there that has the lowest complaints filed ( if any ) than any other insurance company.

State Farm as an insurance company may be just fine. For the last 25 years we have not had to file any insurance claims, but 25 years ago they did what you would expect from an auto insurance company. So my issue is not with State Farm Insurance, but rather with my agent and the individuals that run the office. We have several cars insured with them and they are constantly mis-applying our payments, allowing one policy to lapse while another one that has already been paid for gets the payment applied and eventually we get a refund check. Phone calls are a lesson in patience as no one in the office will ever take responsibility for an error and all errors are always the customers, in this case our, fault. My experiences have been so bad that I will switch insurance companies as soon as the money becomes available.

State Farm has been the best insurance company that I have ever dealt with and by profession I am an Insurance Agent. When I was involved in a very serious auto accident they were extremely efficient at handling my claim. I received promt service when I called the claim in. My adjuster was assigned to me immediately. They were very knowledgeable about every question that I would impose upon them. My check was issued in a timely manner. I was called throughout the entire process. Once my check was received I continued to be contacted to make sure that there was nothing else additional that I needed. They paid the medical bills and covered the other vehicle that I hit. All in all State Farm was the best insurance company that I have delat with in my 25 years in the insurance industry.

I am not a State Farm customer and never will be. I was recently in a fender-bender with a State Farm customer. I was making a right turn at an intersection where there are two traffic lanes with a bus stop to the right of them. I was in the right-hand of the two traffic lanes; when I turned I was hit from the right by someone who could only have been coming from the bus stop, but, well, was not driving a bus.

The first time my claim was refused, I was cited a statute saying I should have been as close to the curb as possible when turning. I looked up the statute, saw that local traffic regulations (such as marked bus stops) override it, and sent back a letter with that information, Google photos of the intersection, etc.

I got a new letter with a new story, now claiming that their driver was in the right lane and I was in the left. Which is simply impossible (we would have been blocking the intersection until we were towed 45 minutes later); and when I called in, I was told that an investigator had visited the intersection and there's no bus stop there. Either he went to the wrong intersection or he's lying. I work on that block and know it well. There is a clearly marked (by signage and on the pavement) bus zone which no car should be in.

Also, there's a person claiming to be a witness but who showed up 20 minutes after the accident. I told the cop that, but he chose to ignore that and cited the witness (and no one else) on the police report. I pointed that out to State Farm and they said they'd try to reach the witness. When I called in after the second denial, they said they'd been unable to reach the witness but somehow - in what is apparently their idea of logic - that means they're justified in relying on him ("not being able to reach the witness means they have no reason to overturn their initial decision," or words to that effect.)

So we're out $3,700 for repairs (until we take the issue to court). State Farm is clearly not interested in honestly resolving claims, just in paying out as little as possible. Maybe this is good from the point of view of the insured, but it's just not right.

My insurance company is State Farm. I have been with them for over 30 years, and I am very pleased with them. They may be slightly higher than other companies, but they are very dependable. Their customer service is wonderful. They work with me to help me reduce my insurance costs. They are available 24 hours a day, which is great if I have an emergency. They have been very responsive to the few claims I have had. They paid my claims very quickly. I would highly recommend State Farm Insurance to anyone.

The rates are decent and they offer multiple discounts like family, multiple accounts, as well as a "good student discount." There was a time, though, that I was in a fender bender that wasn’t my fault and it took WAAAY too long to actually get a hold of someone at State Farm and I felt like I had to do more then I should have to get them to call me back.

Also my policy provided me with a rental car so State Farm contacted a company they go with, Enterprise, and got a car ready for me. Everything was supposed to be taken care of and after I returned the car I got a bill for the so called “insurance” for the rental car. This was all setup by State Farm so basically I paid 100 bucks to get hit by some guy that can’t drive in snow. I wasn’t real happy that they didn’t reimburse me because they are the ones who set it up. When I’m off my parents insurance I probably won’t stay with this company.

State Farm, although they have received a bad reputation in disaster insurance, is by far the best auto insurance company one could hope for. If ever I have a problem they cut through all the red tape and respond quickly. When my windshield was vandalized I simply made one phone call to my agent and it was repaired that day for no charge!

Occasionally I have fallen behind in my payments, even though they provide very reasonable rates, and they are more than willing to work with me. They genuinely care about retaining you as a customer. Perhaps you are wondering is it just my agent that is so attentive? Yes and no. My agent is extremely attentive but I have received stellar service from all the State Farm agents I have done business with. My entire family is in fact under State Farm coverage and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

I just move to STATE FARM, their service it's great, my agent even came to my work, so I could sign all the forms, they also send me b-day cards, holidas labels, calendars, even a baby book when I had my baby.
Before State Farm I was with Farmer which had a really bad service, they increase my premium without any reason.
State Farm give me a loyalty discount every year, and they even called me to asked me how was m Holidays.
I would never change my insurance again,
Best service ever, and the claim dpt is the best.
I even have my agent cell phone number, so I can call them when I need them.

I wrecked my brand new silver Toyota Yaris yesterday in a four car chain collision. There were over 14,000 dollars in damages between all of the vehicles, and mine was among the worst involved. I immediately called up State Farm Insurance and explained what had happened to them. They ran me through a series of steps that needed to be taken next in order to get my car back in working order. Also, because my plan was decent, I only had to pay a 500 dollar deductible for over 3,500 dollars of damage. They covered the cost of a rental car as well.

I also had to be taken to the hospital along with my girlfriend Mia, because both of us had some minor injuries. State Farm Insurance covered the hospital costs too. Today alone I have been called by my State Farm representative 3 times just to confirm that everything is okay and running smoothly. I do not regret for a moment having signed up with State Farm Insurance! Those guys are spectacular as well as some of the nicest individuals around.
