Insurance Advertising Giant – GEICO Reviews

The Government Employees Insurance Company (GEICO) provides car insurance for over 10 million customers. The below GEICO reviews are from some of those customers.

Founded in 1936 by Leo Goodwin, Sr., GEICO  began selling auto insurance to federal government employees and their families. Despite having ‘government’ in its name, GEICO has always been a private corporation and has never been affiliated with any federal or state governments. Headquartered in Chevy Chase, Maryland, GEICO sells car insurance in all 50 states. The below GEICO reviews are from nearly all of these states.

Owned by Berkshire Hathaway, GEICO has enjoyed a resurgence in recent years thanks to advertising. Several of their advertising campaigns have become well-known in recent years – most notably the GEICO gecko and cavemen campaigns. As of 2007, GEICO boasted over 13 million insured vehicles with over 11 million policyholders.  GEICO is one of top insurers of automobiles in the nation. If you have an experience with GEICO, leave a review – good or bad.

I changed auto insurance companies about a year and a half ago from Liberty Mutual to Geico and have been nothing but satisfied with my choice.

I received a piece of mail from Geico explaining to me that the price of insurance had gone down in California and I should get a free quote. So I decided what the heck, and went with it. I was amazed with the result. I was going to be saving over $1500 a year and with more coverage than Liberty Mutual.

Now with the actual experience I have had. My car had broken down, so I called up Geico and was able to get a free tow to the shop. There were several things wrong with the car and had to end up changing shops. Over the period of 3 months I had my car towed about 8 times with absolutely no problems at all and were always on time. It was fantastic.

One last thing was when my car was hit by a driver backing up into my car. I called my insurance and they took care of everything and I was able to get it fixed very easy. I am extremely happy with Geico and I am savings loads of money as well

Honestly they were really slow in getting back to me in an accident report. It was a several day endevour to get through to someone human, and once there trying to make a claim became even more difficult. It might have been my particular agent, but they were also oddly rude to someone who pays as much as people do for insurance.

Again though, they did get my car repaired instead of just junking it. They saved me the entire hassle of buying/registering another car, although I feel like it was partially due to the time issues and the fact that I was already a fairly annoyed customer.

Overall not the worst insurance company by far, but has quite a few problems still. Go figure.

I discovered GEICO after being uninsured for a small amount of time. I had lost my job and didn’t have much money coming in for a few months. I decided I better get some insurance and keep it. I needed something cheap that still offered good insurance. I tried several companies but none would insure me because I hadn’t been insured in the past few months. I decided to see what GEICO had to offer.

I was surprised because their prices were fair and they immediately gave me a quote that was within my budget. I always need the auto pay on a monthly basis and they did that with no problem. I get an email once a month with plenty enough advance notice so I know when my payment is coming out. I have truly enjoyed this company and will continue to give them my business. GEICO was there when no other company was and I respect them for that.

My payments for one vehicle is only slight above sixty dollars, which is much better than many other companies I’ve checked on. I would advise anyone who has lagged in their insurance and lost it to try GEICO. They are a great company and will do you right. Their prices are comparative to other companies and they seem to care about their customers.

Even if I find a company that’s much cheaper in price I will stick with GEICO because I have become a loyal customer because of the way I’ve been treated with them. I am in the process of purchasing a new vehicle and GEICO will undoubtedly be the insurance company I use.

I have had Geico since I have had my driver’s license (almost 8 years) and I have been completely satisfied with their service and pricing.

Geico has the best pricing out of all the companies. I have gotten price quotes from all the other big name car insurance companies, and with every other company, the price was significantly higher than what I am currently paying for Geico with the same features.

I have had two non-fault car accidents and both times Geico handled the accidents efficiently to help get me back on the road. The second time I had an accident, Geico settled the fault dispute, made an appointment for me to take my car to the shop, and scheduled a rental car all within 3 hours of the accident. The people who worked in the shop were all so friendly and communicated effectively to help me understand what work they would be doing. When I received my rental car, it was an upgrade from what my current car was at no extra charge to me. I appreciated this perk!

Anytime I have called Geico’s customer service line, I have always been satisfied with the friendliness of the agents on the other side and have never felt like I was treated poorly. I think Geico is the car insurance winner, they may not tout how wonderful their service is in their commercials, in favor of talking about their prices but Geico has it all: good prices and great service.

I have been with Geico for several years. I have only had to use the benefits once since i have been insured with them. they came out and assessed the damage to my car and within a week i had the money to go have my car repaired. the staff was friendly and helpful in filing, processing and resolving my claim.

If i had any complaint at all about Geico it would be that the premium payments continue to go up every year despite not having had any tickets or accidents. however i have not had any insurance offer me a better deal then what i am getting with geico. i would highly recommend them to anyone.

As a savvy consumer I naturally chose Geico. Originally I was with USAA and was fairly happy until they skyrocketed my rates after an accident while Geico gave me better coverage for a way better rate.

On top of Geico being one of the best bang for your buck auto insurance companies out there they back it up with flexibility and consumer friendly resources.

I had an accident with Geico and my claim was evaluated and paid out within 2-3 weeks. I was amazed to hear from my finance company that they paid out that quickly and on top of that Geico went above and beyond to help me with my Gap insurance claim which was a nightmare but not Geico’s fault.

Geico has great customer service from the regular phone jockey’s you speak with every now and then all the way up to their claims adjusters and tech groups. I never thought after the level of backing I had from USAA that a company would do their best to top that level of service and succeed in doing it.

I have been with a few auto insurance companies since getting my license, and I believe Geico is the best insurance company I have been with thus far. Their online interface makes it easy to create a policy choosing just the right amount of coverage that fits your needs.

I have not had too many accidents thankfully, but I did report a claim back in 2010 when a tree branch hit my car while driving. Geico handled the claim quickly and effortlessly. It was a comprehensive claim so I was not at fault and my rates did not go up. I do hear that in an accident, your rates can go up by up to 40 percent.

I switched to Geico from Progressive in 2009 and, as the commercials say, I saved a ton of money by switching to Geico. I know every insurance company touts that they can save you money, but Geico offered the cheapest rate for me.

Some of the less positive qualities is they do not offer some of the perks the other insurance companies offer such as safe driving bonus and deductible reduction. Accident forgiveness doesn’t kick in until 5 years of accident-free driving. They do offer roadside assistance, although you may still have to pay out of pocket for a tow if you want to be towed further than 8 miles from the breakdown location. They have a neat little service called Mechanical Breakdown Insurance, which would pay for repairs almost like a warranty, but I have not really looked into that as I fear it may not be worth the cost (depending on the kind of car you have) but overall, I would recommend Geico to anyone looking to switch their car insurance company at a reasonable price.

I had Progressive for five years. The rates where high but I was in my early 20’s so I thought I was paying average. My cost was a little over $200 a month.

When I ran my car off the road during a snow storm they sent an agent out right away. He talked me into getting my car repaired at a “preferred” shop. After two weeks of not having my car I went to visit it to see the progress. My car was outside the shop, little if any work had been done. The worst part was that the “preferred” shop did not put plastic on the window that was broken so I literally had snow in my car. I called Progressive and they told me I would need to speak with the shop directly. When I told them that it was their “preferred” shop, they said I was free to choose any repair shop and that they could not control the level of service of the provider. They offered no resolution. I was on my own to deal with their “preferred” repair shop.

Needless to say the “preferred” shop in question was unapologetic. They explained that the shop was extremely busy. Too busy to maintain basic care of my car by protecting it from the elements?! Yes it would seem so, because I needed to go to the hardware store to buy a plastic painters sheet to put over my car myself. It took three weeks to get my car repaired, week four I changed insurance policies.

I’ve had Geico ever since they cut my payment down to $50 a month. Never had an accident while I have had them. My only experience with customer service is when I got married my wife needed to change her name. They were more then helpful sending all of the forms directly to her work and following up with her after the changes had been made.

I’m a 19 year old male who was looking for great auto insurance and I must say GEICO is the perfect fit! As a male, young driver we tend to pay alot for insurance but with Geico I only pay $250 a month which isn’t bad at all. Other companies I know of were around the $500-$800 mark. They have great service with people you can talk to 24/7. Also they have a good monthly pay plan. I highly recommend for anyone, any age who is looking for auto insurance

I am a huge fan of GEICO insurance.

They have incredibly reasonable prices, a fantastically easy to use web site, and helpful customer service representatives. The convenience of a 24/7 contact line cannot be overstated, and the facility to do nearly everything I need to do online, from adding a driver to even adding a vehicle, makes my interactions with them an absolute breeze.

When I do need to speak to a representative, they are unfailingly polite and patient, whether I am calling at 2 o clock in the afternoon or at 2 o clock in the morning. I regularly comparison shop for my family’s car insurance. No matter how many times I do that, GEICO consistently comes in as the best value for the money. With ticket forgiveness, good driver discounts, and multiple other categories of discount, their price just cannot be beat, even by other leading national insurance companies. I routinely recommend them to my friends.

They are able to break up your annual costs by month, or, if you wish, you can pay off the entire amount at once. Additionally, if you sign up for automatic monthly withdrawal, they will waive the small monthly processing fee for your payment.

Fortunately, I haven’t had to make many claims at all, but when I do, they are fast, friendly, and patient. I was rear-ended once for some minor damage to my Jeep’s bumpers and reported the accident the following day. GEICO had me scheduled for an inspection a day later and had reviewed the claim within a day after that. I had a check in my hand n a matter of days, not weeks or months like some other insurance companies.

My auto insurance is not too great. I have full coverage insurance with Geico, which I got about 3 months ago when I started my frist job. The monthly payments I make are about $76. I am a single, male who is 22 years old, so I guess I expected the monthly premium to be pretty high. I have only been in one accident the seven and a half years I have driven a car. I have had no speeding tickets, and 2 other minor traffic violations. I don’t believe that my premium should be so high.

Once my 6 months of coverage are over, I am t hinking about switching to another car insurance company. I am currently thinking about Progressive or Statefarm. However, the customer service at Geico isn’t bad. It was really quick to call and get a free rate quote, and the customer service representative was very helpful answering all my questions. I may get Geico in the future, but I will probably look around for more affordable rates.

I am not too familiar with the exact details of coverage by Geico, since I haven’t been in an accident with this insurance yet.

I have been relatively content with GEICO.

GEICO’s customer service is excellent and their online customer care page is superb. The only problem I seem to have is that my policy slightly increases each renewal period, so far only by a few dollars. I hold issue with this because I have never had my policy increase through other carriers, instead they would usually decrease at each renewal point. My increases aren’t outrageous at this point, but it is a bit discouraging. Other than the slight rate increases, I have been very satisfied with GEICO. I would go as far as to say that the rate increases are worth it to be with GEICO compared to my previous insurance company (you get more for your money).

The last time I had to utilize my coverage was for a damaged windshield. All I had to do was fill out an online form (you can call to) and they set up someone to come out the next day! My deductible was only $50 and the claim was sent through quickly.

Fortunately, I have not had to use my insurance for any other reasons, but I am also offered road side assistance included in my policy. Overall, I am satisfied with GEICO. I will probably contact them inregards to my rate increases, but my guess is that it has more to do the rate variable for the city I live in. I would definitely recommend GEICO, they are still much cheaper than the “bigger” insurance companies, but you get the same for your money and great customer service.

I have been with Geico for the last 12 or so years or so.

They have provided auto services and recently renters insurance through Travellers. I would say that Geico has been a good company to insure with. They have great customer service and are always polite and willing to explain and listen. Their representatives come to the phone much faster to receive your call.

Their rates are comparatively better and claim process has been good too. I also have road-side service in my policy and on that end; they have been very prompt and cooperative too. They even advised how many more times I was eligible for a free tow if I needed it. I consider that kind of attitude great customer service and experience……

But there are always areas that need improvements. I would like to see a few improvements. They are very rigid or unwilling to be flexible when it comes to discounts and reviewing policy premiums. Customers like to know that they are appreciated for their business. I think for customers with whom they have build loyalty over long time, Geico should have a guaranteed way of offering subsidies to keep them happy and sustain their business.

On claims, I wish they had more days and adjusters to work on claims. The adjusters in my zip code are few and far between, and they only work AM hours on select week days. It would be good to see them add more time and resources so as to provide flexibility and convenience to customers in their areas.

I switched to Geico after some friends telling me how affordable they were. I got an online quote and it was so much cheaper than what I was currently paying. I love that I can access all of my account information online. I pay my bill online, print our proof of insurance online and am able to change my limits if I need to. It is very convenient to have all of these capabilities at my finger tips.

My rates have not had any unexpected increases and my coverage does not change unless I change it. I have used a lot of different insurance companies and Geico by far has exceeded the others. I do not plan on switching my insurance company ever. I have referred several friends to Geico that I believe were paying to much for their auto insurance. I was even able to lower my premium again just by adding me renters insurance policy on to my auto. I am more than satisfied with Geico.

There have been a few months were I was short on money and I knew I would not have the funds available for my auto payment to come out, to my surprise they have an option on your online account to delay the payment for up to 10 days. This option has saved me a few times. It’s nice to have that to fall back off if you ever need it. when they say 15 minutes can save you 15% or more, they were not lying.

I’ve always had extremely wonderful customer service when dealing with GEICO. They’ve been prompt, friendly and helpful no matter the situation. The operators really sound like they care about your situation and that makes a big difference when you’re in a stressful situation with your automobile.

My husband was deployed when the car broke down at an intersection. I called their Emergency Road Service phone number and within half an hour the tow truck was there to take me where I needed, which happened to be my apartment complex. They were kind enough later when I called again to take me and my car to a local shop to get it fixed.

I have a tendency to lose my insurance cards relatively often and it’s been very simple for me to just go online and apply for a new card. I am even able to print one out until their copies arrive by post mail. I was able to update my automobile information online with ease when I moved cross country to a different state.

Since I switched to GEICO from my original auto insurance, I have saved over 300$ in a calendar year which has made a huge difference as to what insurance company I will be using from that point on. I enjoy the fact that I can pay for my policy six months in advance so I don’t have to worry about it. They contact me through e-mail when it’s getting to be about that time to renew so I no longer have to watch a calendar and count down the days until I have to renew my insurance. I’ve been with GEICO for years now and they are by far the most courteous, caring and reliable insurance I have ever had.

I highly recommend anyone that is shopping for a new insurance company to give them a call and speak with their highly knowledgeable, courteous and well trained representatives.

It has been an absolutely pleasurable experience to be a customer of GEICO. As an owner of two vehicles, I have for several years been obliged to maintain my insurance with other companies but quickly felt obligated to leave once the contract expired. Numerous hidden fees, poor service and lack of attentive care forced me to look for another alternative, and I am thankful that I came across GEICO.

The quality and care of the service is simply stupendous, with the employees willing to offer help and even allow me to speak to their superiors, who were equally courteous, without issue. It took me exactly 15 minutes to develop my payment plan, and although the price is a little high – once I totaled my car the company did not hesitate to supply me with an even better vehicle while they priced the one I had just crashed with.

I owned a Toyota corolla and was given a Nissan Altima for 3 weeks, before very fairly giving me much more than I had expected for my car. What was even more impressive was how they had all my information in store, when I was out searching eagerly for another vehicle to purchase, GEICO was more than willing to simply allocate the price of my Toyota to the new car without me having to make any transactions.

They maintained contact with the dealer and the transaction was as smooth as a customer could ask for. It has been 6 months since this incident and I have absolutely no regrets about joining GEICO, and will surely remain a loyal customer for a long time

I have had GEICO for years and I’ve always been pleased with them.

First, my policy is super easy to manage and is hassle-free. The payments are made automatically from my checking account every month, and I have instant access to the details of my policy online. Moreover, I can change the terms of my policy online at any time. It’s not a feature everyone will use, but it has definitely come in handy for me on several occasions. The email updates are also convenient. I don’t receive any spam or annoying newsletters, just notices of important matters I would want to know about, like policy renewal.

The low premiums are another great feature of GEICO. I originally used Farmer’s and later switched to Progressive at a huge discount. I thought it was as low as I could ever get it, but GEICO’s premiums were about 15% less for the exact same policy. The multi-vehicle discounts are awesome as well. When I added a motorcycle to my policy, the discount was so big that it almost made the bike policy free! That kind of discount is pretty unusual. And if you ride a motorcycle, GEICO should be your first choice anyway. GEICO’s premiums on my bike alone were less than half of what I was quoted by other insurance agencies, including Progressive.

One would expect that since premiums are so low that customer service would suffer. I can assure you that this is not the case. Although the convenient on-line policy management makes it so that I almost never need to call customer service, I have needed to call on a few occasions and it has always been pleasant. The representatives are always cheerful and polite, and I have never had to struggle with an overseas call center full of reps that speak broken English—which is something I think we can all agree is super frustrating.

In addition, the reps seem really knowledgeable and are very helpful. When I initially got my quote, the rep told me that I had two accidents on my record. I informed her that there must be some mistake, as I had only ever been in one accident. She investigated and found out the Progressive had accidentally listed the same accident under two different claims! I’m really glad that she was able to find out what happened and remedy the situation, because it lowered my premium significantly. I chose GEICO because they had the best price for the coverage I was looking for, but I will stay with GEICO because they have been a pleasure to deal with.

I have a standard auto insurance with this company. Believe me that now i can relax that i have the best auto insurance for my vehicle. The processing was very easy, as soon i bought my Seoond car the first thing that came to my mind was insurance. I thought that i will have to shell out a lot and make some running and stand in queues. But thanks to Geico, everything was processed very quickly and they have customized or tailor made plans to suit every needs.

The premium is also very low and covers everything. I opted for superior coverage levels with the minimum deductible . Even the customer service is very polite , they answer all your questions and can clear all your doubts. So if any one looking for a good auto insurance then select this company with out any hesitation.

I have prior experience with this company. i got my first car insured with the same company. Unfortunately i met with an accident. I rammed my car into a compund wall and the car was damaged. I was initially worried because of the heavy expenses that i thought i would have to spend on the car. But thanks of Geico , they took care of almost evything. The processing and the paper work was done instantly. They took off a major burden off my shoulder.

Thanks to them and that is why i opted the same insurance company for my second car as well.

When I was looking for car Insurance I was skeptical on who I would trust to make sure I am saving every penny possible. I received many different quotes from well known Insurance companies but finally decided on Geico. They have been wonderful to me since I first signed up with them.

Not only was the customer service experience wonderful but, the price was unbeatable. I never believe companies who say, “They can save you money,” until now. The quotes I received from other companies were twice as high as the quote I got with Geico. The agent walked me through every coverage detail until we agreed upon one that was best suitable for me. I actually have better coverage with Geico than I would have with the other companies; who quoted higher and were not as patient or helpful as the agent from Geico.

My previous insurance company was not cooperating with me and would not lower my rates when they could have easily been lowered. That company also did not have a good student discount for students with their own insurance, only if they were covered on their parents insurance. Geico, of course, had a wonderful discount for students with a certain grade point average. I did not have to be covered by my parents insurance to receive this discount either which was a major plus in deciding on who I was going to use for my Auto Insurance.

I was so upset with the previous Insurance Company that I cancelled my insurance before I had even contacted Geico, after the free quote. My policy would expire that night and I did not have another Insurance policy set up yet. The agent at Geico told me not to worry and assured me that he would guarantee I was covered with Geico starting at 12:00a.m. that next day. I gave the agent my information and have been with Geico ever since.

The only down fall to my experience with Geico, after talking with the agent, was reviewing my policy and seeing that the coverage start date wasn’t as he had promised. I sent him an e-mail back and he responded within fifteen minutes. My coverage start time had been changed and he apologized, on his behalf. I would recommend Geico to anyone looking for Auto Insurance.

The customer service was outstanding, it took very little effort from me and I felt as if the agent actually cared about my needs rather than trying to make a quick sale. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give Geico a 6 star rating!

So far I have had a great experience with Geico.

I originally switched to Geico because my previous auto insurance company was only able to cover me within New York state and I was away for college. Geico was willing to cover me in any state in US, and their rate was less than my previous insurance company. Since I switched I have moved twice, and Geico has not changed my rate, but I am not sure if auto insurance companies typically change rates from state to state.

In addition, it was very easy to call and change my address with Geico. I know this should not be a test of a company, but I have had experiences with other companies that were unable to perform simple tasks such as this. When I called Geico they had a very easy to use prompt that directed me immediately to a customer service representative that helped me immediately. The customer service representative was very friendly and easy to understand. Furthermore, I needed my auto insurance bill sent to one address, but my vehicle to be garaged at another address. Geico never gave me any problems with this, and it was very quick and easy to have them change this in my policy.

One thing I am slightly disappointed in with Geico is that as I have gone from age 22 (when I started with them) until age 26, my rate has not decreased. I find this odd because I should be less of a risk, and I have not been in an accident or received a traffic violation of any sort. It is possible that this does not happen with auto insurance companies, so it may not be a legitimate concern. However, I would take this review with a grain of salt as I have not been in an accident or had any reason to really use Geico’s coverage.

From what I can tell I am getting great coverage for an affordable price. In terms of how Geico treats individuals when they need to use their coverage for an accident I have heard mixed reviews myself. However, I have yet to have this experience with Geico, so I can not say much about this.

In terms of Geico’s rate I have recently compared Geico’s rate to those of Progressive, and I believe Progressive would save me money especially with their snapshot program. My girlfriend did complete the snapshot program and it saved her quite a bit of money while maintaining the same degree of coverage as I have. Despite all this I am not in a rush to switch from Geico, especially because their customer service has been so wonderful.

Overall, I would have to say that my review of Geico is slightly positive, and that is only because I have yet to need their coverage, so I am unsure how they will treat me when the chips are down.|

The best car insurance is one that you don’t have to worry about on a monthly basis. You want to know you are protected if something happens, but don’t need to be bothered by it month in and month out. I find that Geico is very effective in this.

They take care of the little things so you don’t have to worry about them. Geico was very easy to sign up with as they gave a quote over the internet and the signup was done online as well. When you create an account on their website you gain access to all you need online which makes everything very easy. If you need a new insurance card you can print it online. If you need to make a payment you can do it online. If you need to change your policy details you can do it online. No calling and being placed on hold for long wait periods.

When I have had to file a claim with Geico they walked me through each step thoroughly. There was someone available right away and they explained the process to me. Each step on the process they kept in contact with me and made sure things were running smoothly. When a check was needed to make a payment they made sure the money was to me immediately and the amount was accurate.

The price for the service I find is very competitive. When I signed up I compared their rates to everyone else’s and there was only one company that was cheaper. Even then the price was within a few dollars, and I chose Geico because I trusted them more then the other company. I have auto payment set up online and my policy automatically renews every 6 months. This means I literally don’t have to think about my car insurance at all unless I need them for something. With everything going on in life this is a great benefit.

Overall Geico is a very effective insurance company especially when you take into account the price of the service compared to others. I have never had an issue with them and they have always treated me with respect and care. I get offers from other insurance companies all the time saying come switch or see how much you can save, but I have been ignoring them all because Geico gives me everything I need in a car insurance company.

I have been with GEICO for the last 5 years and had my most recent car, which I had to make a claim for, on the policy for over 4 years. Over that time we made 2 claims on separate vehicles with clean titles. In each case, GEICO totaled the vehicles. In both cases they gave us much less than the vehicles were worth. This last time I was given almost 3K for a car that I cannot find anywhere in the United States for under 5K. That is starting price for a comparable car! GEICO’s prices are good, but beware when you make a claim!

I have been with Geico for about 8 months, I left my previous insurance carrier and I could not have been more happier, I signed up with Geico on their online website and it was a very simple process only took me about 20 minutes. My rates were about 30%LESS then my previous carrier for the same policy.

Also not long after I signed up I was involved in a fender bender and they were very fast to resolve the issues, When we had a hail storm about 3 months ago, not only did they sent email with a nice how are you doing ? memo, they actually called me to see if I was not affected, In my opinion a great Insurance Company.

My experience with Geico has been nothing but positive so far.

While researching for new car insurance I found Geico to have the lowest rates available to me so I decided that I would start my account online. It was a very simple process. I just had to fill in my information, choose my deductibles and that was basically it.

I love the many different payment plan options. It makes it easier to pick one that fits my needs. You can also choose between automatic payment or making them yourself manually. As soon as your payment is process you can immediately print out your temporary cards so there’s no waiting for the snail mail to deliver them before you can drive your car. The permanent ones came rather quickly as well.

If you need to make changes to your policy such as add or change a car or driver you can do that right from account online as well. It’s all really simple and easy to do. But if you choose you can always call and speak to a representative as well. Customer support is very helpful and quick to respond as well.

Thankfully I have been lucky enough that I have never had to file a claim yet but whenever I have had to contact support, they were very friendly, courteous and helpful. I have yet to have a reason to complain about any any of the representatives I have spoken to. The website is nice looking and easy to navigate. So far I have done everything I need to do online and it has all been very simple. If you need to make changes to your policy in any way you can do that all online. You can add or remove drivers or cars, change your deductibles or add other insurance policies if you want to.

If you shopping for a new car you can easily get a quote to see how it will change your coverage cost if you were to make any changes. Overall I am very happy with Gieiko and I would recommend them to anyone looking for not only auto insurance but any other type of insurance as well. They really are a great company, with friendly , helpful representative, affordable prices, flexible options and the ability to set up your policy either online or over the phone depending which ever process you prefer.

Geico has consistently been a go-to brand of auto insurance for me. There are times when I’ve faltered financially and not been able to pay my bill on time. Geico offers a perfect solution to this problem: postpone payment; a feature accessible through their website.

Like everything else on their website, this feature is super-simple. They give you a range of dates within which you can pay your bill (acceptably) late.

Other than being ultra-flexible with due-dates, Geico has always been a leader in convenience. I can pay my bill online or through a mobile-app on my phone. I’ve been insured by a company where I had to drive TO THEIR OFFICE to pay the bill.

I appreciate the amount and variety of marketing that Geico does. They have the gecko, not a Geico. There are some commercials with live-actors that actually strike ‘funny chords’ within me. There is another company who’s actor is obnoxious, and not that much fun to look at. I commend this company for attractive marketing 😀

Another proud moment as a Geico driver has been getting into an accident and not having to cut through a bunch of red tape to get my claim started. The automated system on their customer care line is quick to siphon customers to appropriate lines. The last time I had an accident was a Sunday evening in 2009. I was not at fault, but of course, went through the motions of calling my insurance company, etcetc.

I do believe the adjuster came out first thing Monday morning. I know for certain that my check was in the mail on Thursday. After being through the inconvenience and fright of a car accident, its rather relieving to have to bureaucratic mess that ensues be not-so-much- of a mess. I appreciate you, Geico.

In terms of phone service, I could say that I really have nothing bad to say, at all. I feel that I’ve had an excellent time on the phone; As I said earlier, the automated system is pretty good at siphoning off call volumes to appropriate venues- and hitting 0 for the operator works. I also thank you for that. Its frustrating when you know all you need to do is speak with a live representative and the automated system puts you through the wringer “to get you to the right department”: you’ll ask me all the same questions when you get me on the line probably anyway, right? Not Geico, you rule!

Out of all the auto insurance companies I have been with, GEICO has the lowest rates. I had even belonged to a special auto insurance company offered for teachers, and still GEICO beat their rates. I had signed up for automatic payments, which made the payments easier, and each year the amount of the monthly payment has decreased slightly.

GEICO also has an easy to use website, where I can access all my information, make payments, and request insurance information. The website also allows you to add or change new vehicles, file a claim, and even has an express option where you can make a payment or request insurance information without having to login to your account. In addition to better rates, GEICO offers a reliable 24 hour roadside assistance program that I believe is equivalent with roadside assistance offered by AAA insurance.

Once, my keys were accidently locked in my car. I was nervous that perhaps I would have to pay a lot of money to get a locksmith to open the door, and that I would have to wait a long time for that locksmith to arrive. I called GEICO’s roadside assistance to unlock the car, and the person who answered the phone was friendly and helpful. He asked what kind of assistance I needed, and after I told him what had happened, he said someone would be there shortly to unlock my car. The tow truck driver arrived in about fifteen minutes, and promptly unlocked the car. I ended up not having to pay, since it was included in my roadside assistance.

In regards to customer service, I have never had a problem with waiting on the phone for a representative to answer, and so far the customer service has been outstanding. GEICO is also quick to send insurance information when I request it. Overall, I have had positive experiences with GEICO. Since I have never had to file a claim with this company, I cannot vouch for the reliability of filing a claim, although my father also has GEICO, and when he filed for a claim, he said he did not experience any problems.

The only negative incident I can think of is when I went to file a claim because my windshield cracked from a loose rock thrown up on the freeway, and when I called to file, I found out that the deductible I would have to pay was $500.00 in order to replace the windshield, which would cost more than actually paying for a new windshield. However, if I had paid more for my policy, then the deductible would have been reduced to $250.00 instead of the current one.

Last year, my brother and I inherited some money and bought a car together. I was 24 and he was 19 at the time, so you have to admire a company that was willing to insure us at all.

We had had the car less than a month – we hadn’t even gotten a real license plate for it – when he left it at the top of a hill in neutral and wrecked it. Luckily, we’d had the car fully insured with GEICO. We called them, and they sent an agent right over to examine the site of the accident. There was very little paperwork and no runaround – the agent agreed to cover our car after only one visit, and didn’t try to deny the claim like some other insurance companies my friends have dealt with. Our agent kept us informed of everything that happened with the car – how the repairs were coming, when the mechanic realized it was totaled, exactly how much money we could expect to get – and always worked hard to make sure things were as easy for us as possible.

At one point, he called to let us know that our check would be delayed for a week because of a natural disaster – I don’t remember where, but I think a bunch of cars had been wrecked by tornadoes or something in another state, and they had literally run out of checks. Even with all that going on, our agent still took the time to let us know what we could expect. Just knowing he hadn’t forgotten about us was comforting. And just as he’d promised, the next week he sent us a check for nearly the blue book value of the car – actually slightly more than we’d paid for it!

We used the money to buy another car, very similar to the first one, which had slightly better luck. We had it about six months before my brother wrecked it. Once again, GEICO approved our claim quickly with no hassle or attempts to get out of it, and paid roughly the same amount for the car as we had spent on it.

After that, Geico politely declined to insure my brother anymore, at least for a few years, but I still really admire how helpful and professional they were, and how much easier they made two very difficult times in my life. The rest of my family are still insured through GEICO, and I have to say, after seeing the problems my friends have had with other insurance companies, I wouldn’t even consider trying anyone else.

have had mixed experiences with the company. Typically, service has been to my satisfaction. The customer service that they offer is as to be expected: you can expect long wait times on hold, and customer service representatives that are not always as knowledgeable as one would like.

However, The one time I filed a claim after discovering my parked card had been hit while I was shopping went quite smoothly: their response was prompt and my claim was treated seriously. My feelings changed after a recent rear ending incident that happened just ten miles away from my home. I had just picked my kids up from school and was returning home when I felt a vibration coming from my cell phone pocket. I glanced down at my phone—admittedly taking my eyes of the road for a moment—and accidentally rear ended the car in front of me.

Luckily, no one was hurt, and the only result was a nasty dent in my fender. The other driver, though obviously distressed, was polite and forgiving (probably due to the lack of damage to his vehicle). I wish I could say the same for my insurance company (Geico). When I reported that I had been in a minor road accident, resulting in no injuries but a large dent to my front bumper, my claim was at first taken without incident.

But the response from Geico would soon shift dramatically. At first, I was called back by a representative from Geico and asked some probing questions—What had I been doing that day? Had I reported all previous driving accidents to Geico? I could tell that, for some reason, the company was dissatisfied with my account of the accident.

A Geico rep, who I had never met before, drove out to my home after we spoke on the phone and chose a time I would be available. Although polite at first, he soon changed his tone, matching my previous phone call with Geico. He asked me to run through my account of the accident again, this time taking notes. He filled out paperwork and told me to be prepared to speak in court about the incident. I was dumbstruck—this was a clear case of me having made a mistake and being very lucky that there weren’t worse results.

Perhaps, he told me, the driver I hit stopped short? Maybe, the representative asked me, you had noticed the driver was driving erratically just before the accident? Maybe the driver over reacted to a red light, and, in overreacting, stopped short, leading me to rear end his car? I can’t say for sure what the representative was trying to do with his leading questions. I never had to speak in court, and for sure my insurance rates increased dramatically after the accident.

Perhaps this is normal practice in the industry, maybe not. I can’t say for sure. All I know is that I messed up and felt like the company might have wanted me to lie to cover that up.

The date of the loss is 6/5/2012 and I called Geico when I got home to report the claim. The person on the phone said that it wasn’t a problem that I didn’t have a police report. An adjuster came out and viewed my car on 6/8/2012. He gave me an estimate and said to bring the car into the body shop. On 6/18/2012, I brought it in and got a rental. I hadn’t heard from Geico during this time. On 6/20/2012 (mid-afternoon), the body shop called me and asked me to call back. I called back to find out that they had found more damage and the adjuster was there. The adjuster told the body shop that it might be totalled car and that Geico is not paying for anything at this time. I spoke with the adjuster briefly and he said I needed to call Geico directly and he would not answer my questions about what was happening. He also told me that he was not the original adjuster. I called Geico directly and spoke to someone in the Claims department. She stated that they are looking for a police report or towing report from the night of the accident. I told her that I was able to continue driving the car and it was a one-car accident. So, I didn’t call the police. She then stated that Geico will likely deny the claim without this paperwork. She also stated that Geico hadn’t seen the car until today. I told her that an adjuster was out on 6/8/2012. She was not aware of that. I asked what I could do to help the situation and she said a number of times that my claim was under investigation and that someone will be calling me. She did not answer any of my questions about what was happening. In the meantime, I have a rental car from the body shop and my car is in pieces at the body shop. I asked the body shop if they could put the car back together so it’s “drivable” again thinking that I could get it back while Geico figures out what they are doing. They said that wasn’t possible since they cut panels off the car when they started the work. On 6/22/2012, I called Geico again to see where we were at in this process. The person on the phone looked into things and told me that someone will be calling me when the investigation was finished. I asked about a time line for this and she said that she could not give me one.

With Geico, the thing I like best is that there is no hassle and the rates are actually reasonable. I have yet to have to file a claim with them on my current policy but I have used them in the past and have filed claims before.

Unlike other providers, there was no run-around, delays, and bull to have to put up with. I simply had to submit the issue, provide evidence, allow adjusters to view the damage, and then, after only a few days, my claim was in business. In my case, the damage to repair was minor and, after Geico authorized a local shop to make the repair, I had my vehicle back like new in less than a week.

I also did not see the usual bull like increased rates either…my premium remained the same, unlike before when I had used other companies. Some of the other companies I used would use any and every excuse to raise my rates, even though I am a safe driver and rarely if ever need to use my insurance.

I also think Geico does some of the best advertising in the insurance business. Everyone I know says that Geico is the insurance company with the little lizard spokesman. Those spots are simple but effective and, for some reason, the lizard just makes you feel confident about the company. I do wish, however, that Geico would dump their other spots. The most annoying one is the “Weeeeeeee” pig…everytime one of those spots comes on, I absolutely cringe and have a strong desire to smash the television. I also think the Cavemen should be retired…those spots are no longer funny or engaging plus you have the fact that the little TV series starring those characters crashed and bombed its first season. Geico should stick to nothing but the lizard…the lizard is their identity and is what works the best for the company in my opinion.

The only thing I would say in a negative light in regards to Geico is that they have heavy competition from Progressive now. The Flo commercials are always top-notch and the Messenger commercials are also starting to stick very well. Right now, I think Progressive is doing a better job of getting its message across while Geico seems to be stuck a bit in regards to their identity. I would suggest using the lizard more to counteract Progressive.

I was looking for an auto insurer last year when I finally passed my driving exams a little later in life than I wanted, and I was a little confused about all the types of auto insurance available out there. I think most auto insurers make the different insurance plans too complicated for most people to understand. I knew I had to get insurance, but the different plans and costs really made it hard to decide.

I called many insurers and found that they just talked jargon that confused me even more, and often tried to hard-sell to me plans that I’m sure I didn’t need. I found the hard-selling really a negative experience hen searching for a quote. I called so many companies predominantly for just a quote so I could compare the prices throughout the plans available to me, and found that many of the sales representatives kept my details and often called back a few days later to ask if I had come to a decision yet. I understand that they need to do business, but I found them so forceful to get me to sign up that I felt sorry for a lot of people who may have been pressured into purchasing a plan they didn’t need.

Saying all that, I chose GEICO for my insurance based on their adverts! It may be silly, but apart from their funny adverts, I liked the way they explained their insurance plans to me, it was one of the few companies at the bottom of my list that I had previously avoided calling due to the forcefulness of the other auto insurers. But having called them, they seemed really helpful and understood my confusion about the different plans available.

As soon as they explained to me all the plans it was simple to choose. They helped me to find all the details I needed to hand them for them to start covering me and it was as simple as that. I find their customer service first class and because of this I really trust them. About three weeks ago they called me to tell me of a new deal they were offering considering I have been with them for 18 months now.

I really loved the sincere nature of the offer, giving me a cheaper deal for the same period of insurance cover than my previous contract that came to an end. Many other companies might have tried to increase the length of my contract but not with GEICO, I was really impressed and I highly recommend GEICO to all of my friends and family now

Geico has provided my family with excellent rates and customer service. When I call their number they have a friendly customer menu that generally gets me to a live agent in realative little time. Their agents seemed well versed in each states laws regarding coverage and always provide plenty of options.

Every six months like clock work they provide me with new documents and insurance cards. Overall I have never had to file a claim, knock on wood. I would recommend Geico to anyone who wants a national carrier with competitive rates. I haven’t read anything to negative and again other features I love are auto bill pay, electronic documents and again an attentive staff.

I am a young 19 year old male living in the United States. I have been insured by Geico for my small pontiac sunfire for the past few years. Registering my car through my parents name was no problem and it saved me and my family money in the long run. With college expenses and tuition needing to be payed for the company cut us a break in car insurance. At least thats what my parents told me.

On the phone, when ever I spoke to someone from the company, they seemed very polite and well mannered.I did not mind calling the company as I was comfortable talking with my agent. My family has insured three cars through the company and there has been no problems. When my father had got into a fender bender, both involved parties were happy in the coverage results. There was no issues or problems during this time.

Me being a safe driver, I have not had my rates go up. I have never got a ticket from the police, and have never crashed or got into a fender bender so my rates are the same as when I started being insured. I feel that this is a great incentive to make younger people better and safer drivers. It may prevent teens from speeding and getting pulled over and get tickets. Getting point on my licence, i’d assume, would increase the rate from this company.

The agent in my area, like I have said is very easy to talk to. I believe the commercials on T.V. truly depict the real life employees of this company.Overall the customer service and quality or service has been very good. The only thing to complain about this company is the motorcycle insurance for a younger person like me. I have wanted a motorcycle for a very long time. I assumed the insurance would not be too high but i thought wrong. At first, they would not insure me at all due to having a high performance bike and being under the age of 21. We talked it out and we ended up putting the title of the bike through my dad for insurance and such. It was a pain.

Overall us and the company were able to work it out, even though the rate remained very high. I doubt any company would give me a better rate for motorcycle insurance but even so, I won’t switch from GEICO. The service is too good to pass up.

I am currently with Geico. What I like about this auto insurance company is that they give me & my wife the best rates.

We currently carry full coverage on our 2004 Honda Pilot for the low amount of $450 for 6 months. What I didn’t like about this company was how much they wanted to charge when my wife first got her drivers license. They wanted $1100 per 6 months. Back then I was paying $334 per 6 months.

I decided not to put my wife on my insurance and she didnt drive for 3 years. During that time I ended up getting a ticket and lost my good driver discount, but I still only had to pay $450. I had checked with other companies in the meantime, but pretty much all of them had very high rates, and even with my speeding ticket, Gieco was still the lowest.

Then this year, my wife had her license for 3 years and I decided to see if the insurance was any cheaper. I checked with some other companies and wanted $700-$900 to switch to them for both of us. I re-checked with Gieco then and they told me I could add her and they wouldnt raise my rates even a single penny. I was very happy about this. Both of us now drive and only pay $450 for 6 months for full coverage. Before Gieco I was with Progressive. I believe I was paying $600 every 6 months for them on an older car.

They were satisfactory for a while, but after I got a quote from Gieco, I decided to switch to save the money. There seems to be no reason to stay loyal to an insurance company. They all seem to be the same, offering the same things for different prices. But what I do not like about either insurance companies is that they give much lower rates to people in different states than my wife & myself. Some states seem that a good driver can get much much lower rates even though he is the same age, marital status, and income as myself.

I’ve also noticed that some states can charge more than myself based on the same qualifications. I am not sure if this has to do with different government regulations in different states, or if insurers collaborate in those states to get higher rates. But in summation. I’m pretty satisfied with my insurer, Gieco.

If you are a GEICO customer you may think grand service on claims. If you are a USAA customer who gets in an accident with a GEICO person and the GEICO person is 100% responsible for the accident with police report verifying. Accident was 4 weeks ago. USAA client has been paid rapidly and car replaced rapidly with USAA assistance. GEICO is “investigating” coverage and as USAA person can’t work yet there is loss of wages for 4 weeks now and 20% of medical bills are unpaid as well as now pain and suffering costs. Does GEICO not pay other companies clients, seems from reading reviews that is exactly what is happening. They should pick up their obligations like most large insurance companies do.

Positive. The rate of Geico is the cheapest for me in New York. I have had my insurance for more than six months with them. It seems they do not verify certain information that I provided. They actually called me once to verify my driving record, and that was it, no calls ever since. The rates are much cheaper than other insurance companies that I quoted, state farm, AAA, etc.

There is a payment plan option you can pay 6-month straight with your credit card and get a discount, or take the defensive driving test to get a discount as well. My overall recommendation with Geico is good. I would also recommend to use Geico if you reside in New York.|

I originally switched from my previous insurance company to GEICO after their rates went up drastically. I didn’t have a ticket or an accident, so I didn’t understand why their rates had gone up. With GEICO, I was actually able to have better coverage for a savings of about $400 a year.

I changed over to GEICO from my previous company (who made no attempt to save my business) and have never considered switching to another company. My rates have pretty much stayed the same since then, even though I have gotten a ticket a couple of years ago. The thing I like about GEICO is the convenience of doing things on my own time.

There is always someone to speak to, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Also, if I wanted to speak to someone in person, they do have a front office in their Woodbury, NY location. While that front office is not open twenty four hours a day or seven days a week, they still have convenient hours for working people. Also, as long as I have had GEICO, I have always been able to do pretty much anything I needed for my policy online.

I can make payments, change coverages, even file claims. If I choose to make a policy change, it happens quickly, I don’t have to wait for the site to update. In this sense, they’ve been far and ahead of other companies. I have only had to file a few minor claims, luckily. Two of them were glass claims, and one was where I was in a small collision with no injuries. With the glass claims, they were able to send a repair specialist to my home and my job. They came early in the time frame that was provided to me, and repair specialists performed their tasks efficiently.

In fact, I am pretty sure that the glass they put in my car was better than the old glass, because I have not had as much as a “ding” since. When I had my small accident, I was advised to take my car to one of their preferred body shops. Even though you can take your car to any mechanic or body shop you like, there is an advantage to using one of their preferred shops.

When I arrived to the preferred shop, both the adjuster and the rental agent from Enterprise were there waiting to greet me. I was pleasantly surprised at the VIP treatment I received! My car was fixed quickly, and all I paid was my deductible. All in all, I have found my experience with GEICO to be pleasant, and I don’t find that I have to think about my car insurance unless I have to pay the bill. That’s how it should be!

I had an accident 3 years ago just months after I got my driver’s license. I crashed into our garage while trying to park the car. It was awful since we just bought the car a month ago. My husband was torn cause he just made the first payment 2 days before the crash. It could have been worst though since I didn’t have my daughter with me that time. I would have traumatized her. The front of the car was smashed and the garage door was broken into two. I was so terrified and don’t know what will happen.

I immediately called our geico agent and was so surprised on how they made it so easy to file a claim. Just after I explained everything that happened, they were already with the repair shop setting up an appointment to pick up car. Agent was very thorough and gave me all the details I need. She even gave me options on how I want my car fixed. I didn’t have to do anything after, but just to wait for the repair guys to pick up my car the next day. I got my car after a week and they’ve kept in touch with me the whole time.

I got a couple a day after they’ve picked up my car and 4 days after. They even explained to me what they’re doing with me car and all the little details. It was amazing. My car was good as new and the repair guys was so friendly and knowledgeable. They took care of my baby, it looked like it just came out of the dealer shop. I was very happy and very satisfied with the service.

I don’t even have to fight with the repair people about payment, everything was taken care by Geico. All I did was signed the release papers. Though my rate has increased a little, it didn’t bother me at all. And I swear I will never switch to any other company that promises savings. With geico, I am always assured that I will be taken care of no matter what. I had no problem from start to finish, easy as pie.

My family will always be a loyal customer of Geico. My husband never had a problem with them as well. He said that he never had a hard time with them and always no hassle. Customer Service all very friendly, professional and understanding. I love their lizard commercial too. I think he is the cutest thing on tv.

At first I thought I’d like geico. WRONG. I had my first accident on 5/11/12. The adjuster didn’t come look at my car until 5/17/12. Then had to get someone else to do a supplement claim and that didn’t happen until 5/31/12. I have paid my premium to whomever my insurance company was for 12 years straight. They have drug ass and it has taken geico 20 days to cut a check for my car to be fixed. I bet they wouldn’t like it too well if I was 20 days late paying my bill. Actually they probably wouldn’t care because they would just cancel me and snatch some other innocent bystander in to take my place. It won’t happen again. It’s just down right ridiculous at the rates we have to pay to be covered for when something does happen. And then get treated like shit. They act like they could care less if I went from driving an Infiniti G35 to a Nissan pickup with no air conditioner. Who cares. They don’t. I was told on 5/17/12 that I would have my car back within 24 days! THAT’S A NEGATIVE!!! They have just Egan working on it TODAY because of geico and their slow reaction time and care less attitude!! I wouldn’t recommend geico to my worst enemy!! They are NOT what they make themselves out to be! Not to mention. My rates increased the evening of my accident by $98 and they didn’t even have a police report yet! How crappy is that!! Up it because you HEARD I had a wreck. No proof, just hear say!!

I have had several experiences in which Geico has been a huge help to me. One such experience was when I went shopping in a nearby town with my two sons. Upon finishing our shopping I realized my keys were not in my purse and then the dread set in, realizing I had left the keys in the car. I rushed to the car hoping a door would be unlocked but unfortunately all the doors were locked and my keys were in the ignition.

I called Geico and the lady I spoke with was so nice and helpful. She quickly found a locksmith nearby and made sure that my boys and I had somewhere we could go nearby to wait on the locksmith to arrive. It was a very hot summer day 90+ degrees out. She gave me the name and number of the locksmith in case I needed to call him before he arrived, which was going to be about an hour.

After about 30 minutes she called my cell phone to check on us, which I found surprising and refreshing. We felt that there was someone on our side and made us feel not as stranded! Given the circumstances the experience was positive. The customer service at Geico is great and other companies should take a cue form them on how their customers should be treated!

This particular Geico employee seemed genuinely concerned about us and made sure we got the help we needed as quickly as possible. It is nice to know that a company as big as Geico treats their customers with kindness and respect and not just as another number. Another plus was that the locksmith fee was covered by Geico and I did not have to pay a dime.

My premiums covered everything! I would recommend Geico to anyone looking to get car insurance for the first time or anything thinking of switching to another insurance company. Geico has never let me down.

I love my auto insurance. It was super fast and easy to sign up with, It literally took me fifteen minutes of my time to get my insurance with geico. Awesome Rates were what first attracted me to geicos auto insurance. I own and drive three automobiles, So I needed a bottom line dollar for the best coverage available to me. My geico representative took time to explain to me what coverage was required by state law in my area, explained what each plan covered and what would be the best options for auto insurance for myself and my family. Excellent Customer care and service is always delivered from my auto insurance provider.

I can call at anytime I need or want to and always speak with a live representative not a computer. I was asked only basic questions and was delivered an excellent customer service. Insurance in less than 15 minutes ?? Really ?? Who does not want that! And Did I mention what low rates geico has ?|

if any one did not know your credit is checked with out you knowing it. It does not matter that you have drove a year or 30 like me. And no insurance company has ever paid out a dime for a accident or theft or nothing on me. GEICO IS MORE WORRIED ABOUT YOUR CREDIT THEN YOUR DRIVING RECORD SO DO IT IF YOU WANT TO IF .BUT THEY WILL NEVER GET A DIME OUT OF ME

When I moved 10 years ago from a low-insurance city upstate to a high-insurance greater metropolitan area, I was shocked at the increase in rates which the company I had insured with for the previous 16 years or so, insisted were now necessary because of my new location.

Nothing would move them, not reminders of my loyalty over the years, not the fact that I had placed ALL my insurance needs in their hands. I called GEICO, a little skeptical that their ubiquitous advertised savings would amount to much in my case. Imagine my surprise when they were able to save me not $100, not $200, not $300 but nearly $500! Needless to say, I switched immediately.

Since then I have had nothing but good experiences. I was side-swiped by another vehicle about five years ago, which knocked off my driver’s rearview mirror. This had to be replaced immediately and I called GEICO for advice, because the cost of the replacement mirror, plus a little work to shift my bumper back into position, came to only a little more than my deductible would be if I claimed. A charming customer service rep talked me through the options, and I ended up

When a Halloween pumpkin (thrown by some neighborhood kids) cracked my windshield, GEICO gave me an immediate referral to Safelite and my windshield was fixed THE SAME DAY! And it cost me absolutely nothing. As a courtesy, GEICO actually called me a few days later to make sure all was well. When I changed jobs and no longer used my car for work, when I started driving less after going part-time, GEICO negotiated discounts and reductions for me.

About two years ago, I noticed my rates had increased. A GEICO rep explained it was universal — and pointed me in the direction of several new savings, including an online Defensive Driving Course. I took the course over the next two days, the results were sent electronically to GEICO, and my new bill a week later reflected a saving of hundreds of dollars. I would never have known about the Defensive Driving Course had it not been for GEICO.

I have never had to wait on the line for a customer representative; they have been universally helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. And while I have not actually had a claim involving an outlay on my part, I have confidence that if I do, it will be handled smoothly. Yes, they advertise a lot and yes, the Limey Gecco can be a bit irritating as well as amusing. But GEICO IS the best around.

Part of growing up in the “real world” is paying for your own things: food, rent, utilities, and car insurance to name a few. For me, this all came about when I graduated college. I was no longer under my parent’s financial plan and had to become an adult. When it came down to car insurance, the “no brainer” was to go with GEICO. GEICO, at the time, offered the best rate for college students starting out that had a few speeding tickets and even an accident on their record.

Even over the last 9 years, I am still a loyal GEICO customer because I feel they still offer that same best rate as well as providing a service. As I went through different life changes over the past 9 years: turning age 25, previous driving records coming off my record, getting married, and getting divorced, GEICO’s rates never disappointed. They offer discounts based on your car’s safety features, multi-car policies, good driving records, and even if you are affiliated with one of their partner organizations.

They offer several payment plans to fit your budget needs all the way from 1 payment (this is the cheapest route) up to 6 payments during the cycle of your policy agreement. The multiple payment plans really helped me when I had a lot of bills and I was trying to budget my money for the month: a smaller payment to me meant no financial crisis during a particular month.

A few years ago, I had to use the claims service at GEICO. From the moment I made the reporting call to the very end, I received the most superb service. I was upset, distraught, and even a little embarrassed, but the customer service representative assured me there was nothing to worry about and this happens all the time.

He explained to me in detail everything I needed to do and told me exactly which body shop I needed to go to. Upon arrival at the body shop, I was greeted by another GEICO representative who went over the whole process and surprised me with an amazing rental. It was a bigger and nicer vehicle than I normally drive…I actually felt a little spoiled. Over the years, I have entertained and even received price quotes from Progressive and Liberty Mutual to name a few. I always end up asking myself, “Why did I waste my time?”

GEICO allows you to get your quote on-line while when I was dealing with Liberty Mutual, I had to talk to an actual representative. Although I realize it was a personal touch for customer service on their part, it was a pushy sales pitch to me. In addition, the reason I contacted LM was because they said they could beat my rate, when in fact, they couldn’t come close.

GEICO is the way for me. It is hard to break up a 9 year relationship when you have received nothing but the best: service, price, usability of website, and payment options to work with your budget. And, who doesn’t love the GEICO mascot? It definitely beats Flo for sure!!!

I’ve been with GEICO for over five years and everything seemed to work fine since I didn’t have an accident. I did notice my bill got higher one year unexpectedly, so I contacted them and discussed why I had received a higher bill for the next six months since I had not been in any accidents and my bill was going down for every year before then. They were courteous and explained to me that Pennsylvania had a change in policies for that year and that automotive insurance plans had gone up across all insurance providers throughout the State.

We then started taking a look at my coverage and went into some options that ultimately brought down my costs about 40%. I did sacrifice some coverage, but the experience had me feeling that I could have been saving 40% for the years prior. The real test of my insurance provider came when my wife did in fact have an accident. She was parked in our driveway and taking out the groceries as the large minivan somehow lost its Park shift and went into neutral.

Our two year old daughter was in the back seat, and my wife tried to run after the van to save our daughter. She tried jumping into the driver’s seat without luck, then she tried to place her hand on the emergency brake in an effort to stop the van. Unfortunately, the van’s door smashed my wife against a pine tree, dragging her to the floor, fracturing a spine, and rupturing her kidney.

She was taken to a hospital where I met with her, and doctors told me she needed to be flown to a specialty hospital or she could die in a matter of hours. She made it to the hospital in time, and she would spend the next four weeks in the hospital and the following seven months in recovery and is in physical therapy and well today. Thankfully, our daughter was safe and unharmed.

It was early during that difficult time that I had to manage many things in my life as a result of the accident, and having to call and deal with GEICO was one of them. My experience with GEICO was incredibly easy and pleasant, and I worked with one person assigned to my case exclusively. All the payments that were made to doctors and hospitals came right on time after the initial conversation and information gathering, and I was kept in touch without the contact being too intrusive.

I would say that the coverage I had was $10,000, and that amount was exhausted within the first day of bills. The costs came to over one million dollars, and my health insurance took over the rest with some moderate out of pocket costs. But the portion that was covered by GEICO was handled very well.

When you buy a car the last thing on your mind is if the car insurance is who you are going to go with. It’s like house insurance and life insurance you really don’t care, it’s not like these people are going to be seeing you every day of your life, eating breakfast and talking to you.

No, all they will be doing is doing their job and that’s all you can hope for them to do. Now when I started with Geico I knew that all of the pricing for competitors were the same, I was going to get the same insurance plans that Allstate and State Farm but with Geico. When I speak to an insurance sales representative and they are rude I will instantly hang up the phone.

The same can be said about anything else. If you talk rude to me or is really grumpy and upset my day then I a going somewhere else; It’s not like you have the cheapest rates or even have a special package that no one else has. It’s a lie when a car insurance company says they have the cheapest rates and will save you 20 to 30 dollars less than the competitors.

They are just pulling that figure out of their but, there is no way they can save you that much money and be competitive. What they are doing is simply taking out bits and pieces from your plan to make it cheaper for you. All insurance companies can do that. With Geico I felt great from the start, the sales representative made me and my husband feel like we were worth a million dollars. That’s the feeling I want when I go anywhere, I want a boost in my self-esteem.

When I finished talking to the first representative I was transferred to another and that conversation I thought was going to be just like the other car insurance companies, bland and ready to take your money. I was wrong; the second Geico representative was great. He was friendly and courteous and was great answering the dozens of questions that me and my husband had for him. It was an experience that was worth signing up for Geico for a long term type of commitment.

Right now I feel that Geico is my all-in-one insurance company and that they will stay that way until I feel ready to do so. Maybe in the future I will change and if my experience is the same then I’ll stick with Geico for another year but if not it’s back to the drawing board.

    |I have used Geico Auto Insurance now for several years. My car broke down in 2007 and I did not have the money to purchase a new one. The insurance company I was with would not work with me to keep my self covered on insurance. I did not want a break in coverage, makes it very expensive to begin again and removes all of your past good standing. So my mother called up Geico and asked them if I could be put onto her policy. They were more than happy to help us out and with a few short minutes my coverage was changed over.

This past month I have finally purchased my own vehicle again and I called around to see what rates I could get on my own. I wasn’t liking what I was seeing, so I called up Geico and see what the rates would be for me going onto my own policy. The customer service guy was amazing. His name was Jamal, and he was very nice and polite. I called very early in the morning and was not even expecting to get anyone on the phone in all honesty.

But Jamal walked me through all the steps, and even got my mother on a three way phone call so we could do all the switching of policies. He helped me set it up so not only did I pay half of what everyone else wanted to charge me, but since I had been on my mothers insurance he gave me automatic accident forgiveness, several discounts, and worked on a payment arrangement for me. They also are setting me up with a cheap, but well covered rental insurance.

After it was all said and done they also gave my mother a new discount and a rebate for having me on her insurance and keeping me with their company. Geico Insurance has worked with me a lot, and has rushed the documents to me so I could get the car legal and have proper proof of coverage. They not only emailed me the documents to download, but it was only a couple of days to get the actual copies in the mail.

Also my pay date fell on a weird schedule and didn’t quite match up when I needed the insurance to start, but they had no problems with taking the initial payment, and then rescheduling my due date with just a small pro rated charge for the change of days onto the next bill. I had been warned that Geico was one of the more expensive companies out there, and to shop around. But at the end of the day I am very happy to say I am a Geico member, and that for me, they were the cheapest around, and they offered me more coverage for the price.|Geico works with me.|

    |I have been with Geico for over 8 years, and it has been a very good experience. The most important aspect of why I continue to do business with Geico is because of their excellent customer service. You can always tell when a company is run with customer service as a top priority. Geico is one of those companies. While I have not had any specific accidents to speak of, I have had regular interaction with the Geico customer service team.

One of my first chances to test the quality of Geico Customer service, was when I had lost my job and needed to greatly reduce expenses across the board. I called customer service and asked them to go over each and every item on my policy with me. Line by line the friendly lady on the other end of the phone explained to me exactly what each item was and if it was mandatory to have in my state. Being a good drive, I was comfortable with removing unnecessary coverage.

I made it very clear that I was interested in reducing my car insurance expense as much as possible. She was extremely helpful, and went out of her way to find anything on my policy that could be changed of removed to lower my semi-annual bill. She then went even further, and searched a long list of possible memberships, companies and associations to find one that I might be able to use to further lower my bill. She ended up finding one, and it worked. She spent a good amount of time with me on the phone that day.

She jokingly mentioned that she had never seen a bi-annual insurance payment as low as we were able to get it to on that day. She then asked if there was anything more she could do and asked if i would mind filing out a survey rating her customer service skills. I said, “certainly” and received the survey by email shortly after hanging up the phone with her. Never having had an accident certainly has helped keep my car insurance to a minimum, but by Geico going the extra mile to help me out, goes a long way in building loyalty on my part.

I’ll continue to be a loyal Geico customer knowing that if there ever is an issue or even a car accident that excellent customer service is but a phone call away. Not to mention that in doing a recent online search, I found that Geico still has some of the lowest rates in the industry. Yet, more reason to go with Geico and stay with Geico. I’m quite satisfied.

I first used GEICO as my car insurer in 2006. I had previously been insured by Allstate, but I became unhappy with the cost, so I started looking for other insurers. GEICO offered a very good price so I switched to them. Initially, had no problems with GEICO at all. It was very easy for me to renew my policy online every 6 months, and I never had any reason to contact them at all. I never spoke to anyone at GEICO, as I set my policy up online, downloaded policy documents and insurance cards online, and paid online.

There was never any reason to contact them, and I was very happy with the relationship. When I was insured by Allstate, they seemed to email me regularly trying to see me other products, such as renters insurance, but GEICO never contacted me. In January of 2011, I was in a car accident with two other cars. I was the third car in a line of cars, and I hit the car in front of me, which had hit the car in front of him.

After the accident, I got out of my car to talk to the other two drivers. As it turned out, they were friends, with the second one following the first one. When the accident occurred, I was paying attention, looking forward, and I was not on my cell phone, eating, listening to music, or doing anything else that would have been distracting, and there was no one else in my car.

I know that I did not see brake lights on the car in front of me before I hit it. The driver stopped very suddenly, and I slammed on the brakes, but hit the car anyway. I exchanged information with the other two drivers, and the driver of the car I hit admitted that he had hit the car in front of him before I hit his car. He wrote down what happened so that I would have documentation. I called GEICO to report the accident, and they said they would investigate.

The person I talked to asked if either of the other drivers was injured, and what the extent of the damage was to their cars. She then asked if I was okay, but it seemed to just be an afterthought. Her main concern was obviously the extent to which the other drivers might have a claim. I explained how the accident occurred, and that I had a note written and signed from one of the other drivers regarding how the accident occurred. She said they would be back in touch with me once they were done with their investigation, and she asked me to upload the signed note I had to the website.

I uploaded that as well as some pictures I had taken of the damage to all three involved cars. It took them 6 months to complete their investigation, and when they did, they ruled that I was at fault for all of the damage to all three cars. I called to ask how I could have been considered at fault for the damage to the rear of the first car, and the front of the second car when the second car hit the first car before I hit the second car.

The representative said that they didn’t know that. I mentioned that I had uploaded the note stating that that is what happened, and the representative checked and said, “oh yes, I see that.” Both drivers had subsequently claimed that I was the one to cause the accident and that I pushed the second car into the first car. I asked why they didn’t take the note the second driver into account, and they said that it wasn’t worth their time to fight the case given that I only had liability and that my premium was low.

The rep also said that the only reason it takes six months to investigate is because they just want to make sure that there are no medical claims that come up. My policy then increased by 50%. I find it appalling that the fact that I have a low premium due to only having liability means that they will not take into account information that I uploaded to them, and that they will increase my premium substantially because of their lack of interest in putting any time into looking at this claim.

I had much better service through Allstate when I had an accident many years ago, and I think it is worth the extra cost to be insured by a company with better service, and more concern for how I am doing after an accident. I will be going back to Allstate as soon as my current policy ends.

For the past ten or so years all the cars that I have driven have been under someone else’s name so I had not had auto insurance of my own until I bought two new cars earlier this year in January. I have pretty bad credit so I did quite a bit of insurance shopping before I purchased. After shopping around for about a week I found that Geico was able to offer me the best rate and were in my opinion the easiest to deal with so I purchased insurance through them.

They were able to offer me a lower deductible while providing me with a little bit more insurance than their competitors at a little bit lower price. I think I ended up paying about eighty dollars less every six months by going with Geico than I would have if I had purchased from the next most affordable provider. I have only had Geico insurance for about four months now and so far everything has been fine. I am very impressed with how well they do at providing service for their customers over the phone.

Every time that I have called them there has been zero wait and the person on the other end of the phone was very willing and able to assist me with whatever my insurance question. Despite being so pleased with the service that their telephone customer reps provide I have spent some time snooping around their website and I have to say that it is very well organized and is very easy to navigate.

From what I can tell you could take care of about insurance related need that would arise through the options that are provided on their site. I have not had any claims but judging on my overall experience with Geico so far I would imagine that the claims process would go as smoothly as everything else has so far with them. The only potential draw back that I can see so far is that when I signed up with Geico I was not assigned a dedicated agent to handle my questions and claims.

I could potentially see this being a negative if down the line if something bad happened and I had to file a claim I wouldn’t have a professional who I had built a relationship with working with me to resolve my problem. I would just be working with whoever happened to be assigned to my insurance claim.
